Excellent Interesting Book
I have other books by this same author and I am always satisfied by the written and photographed information presented. Very good pictures that really tell their own story. A must-have for actually absorbing rare photographs without getting too bloated in the written stuff.

Great brief history of CV-6
The book covers the operational history of the US Navy's most decorated warship from WWII. The book is a hardcover with the pages of a sturdy paper stock. It contains many photos of high quality that cover many aspects of the ship and its history. It isn't the most detailed book on the market regarding CV-6, but it is well worth the price.

Surprisingly substantial for a $16 picture book
Although most of the naval history I consume is of the table-shaking, eyeball-glazing variety, I have a hard time resisting the occasional book of pretty pictures. This book contains 230 pictures in total, and except for a few pictures taken by the carrier's air group of Japanese warships being attacked, all of them are either of the "Enterprise" or were taken aboard. Along with a number of "in action" shots of the carrier in battle, there are plenty of images of her under construction, drydock images of refits and battle damage, candid shots of life aboard and flight deck activities, and aerial shots of the ship at sea and entering/leaving harbor. Most of the photos are very sharp-looking and free of annoying digital degraining, and the captions are usually fairly detailed.I'd love to give this five stars, but there are some annoying typos in the text, and at 128 pages, it's not exactly definitive, with only about 20 pages devoted to the ship's history. Still, for $16, this book delivered a heck of a lot more than I was expecting, and it's remarkably lean and focused. David Doyle and Schiffer Publishing have pumped out quite a few books of this type recently, and I'll probably check out further volumes in this series.
