Super Useful for Working With Zipties
Zipties are great but taking them off can be a pain, but these tools make it super easy. Very durable, sharp, easy to hold and use by one hand. Very useful to have one around.

Impressive Cutter
I was asked to review the Monvict MC-170, but I paid for the tool myself to do as impartial a review as possible. On the DIY Apprentice YouTube channel, I work on home improvement and automotive repair and maintenance projects, so I was intrigued by how I could potentially use a tool like the Monvict MC-170 on some of my projects.Check out the full video review on the DIY Apprentice YouTube channel. Please leave a thumbs up if you like the video!Packaging: It's very professionally packaged, including an explanation of cutting capacities and the types of materials it can cut. There was a slight odor on the packaging and the tool - not sure if that's normal, but it wasn't too offensive.Tool Features:- Stainless steel with semi-hard plastic handles - handles felt comfortable. I like to tug on the handles of tools to see if they can be easily removed - MC-170's handles are well-adhered.- Overall length - 5"- Handle opening width - approx 3"Blade cutting surface length - 1/2"Blade is angled for flush cutting, very sharpHinge and spring are smooth - no binding whatsoever. If you have larger hands, it will feel small in the palm of the hand, but it doesn't take much force to cut the items for which this tool is made; fingertip grip can be used without a problem.Materials cut in the video:- It's not meant to cut steel, but I cut some electronic component leads, which are normally tinned copper-plated steel, without a problem. Also, the Amazon listing mentions beading wire, which I've read is normally steel. As long as it's thin wire, it should be fine, but I'm not sure how that affects the 3-yr warranty, 45-day money-back guarantee.- Copper wire up to 14 AWG - cut just fine. Would be great in some instances for cutting home electrical wires, car stereo installation, car wire repair, etc. in confined spaces.- Plastic up to 2.0 mm - not a problemOverall: I was impressed with the MC-170. It cut effortlessly, seems durable (although, I've only had it a few days), and I like the compact design for confined spaces.

Model building on the cheap!
The second time around was the charm- initial pair did not have meeting blades, only at the very tip did they touch and with enough force would close by compromising the upper edge. Tried a few other “japan made” cutters for double the price in some cases and they can’t compare value wise for these Monvicts! Glad I tried a second pair on Prime day and for under $6 they can’t be beat. The grips are nice but not like my Hakko’s- but they are SHARP! Only time will tell how long the edge lasts, but I’m strictly using these for model building, no wires! I can’t compare against Tamiya or Godhand, but I can say that they leave little to no stress mark when properly cutting gates. Learn to use your tools carefully and with patience. Less sanding, more painting! For the price and quality- get 2 pairs!

They work quickly and easily (one-handed)
These cutters work for wire or plants easily and (so far) without fail. It’s easy to use them one-handed, leaving the off-hand to do whatever needed to accomplish the task. They were among those with the lowest price so it was obvious to me that I didn’t need to spend more for the same effect. The cutters are light and with the spring-loaded handles, automatically stay open unless the user intends that. The cutting surfaces align perfectly, ensuring a clean and quick cut.

Good quality
I use these for building plastic scale models and they do the job better than the budget versions at the hobby shops, 2 for half the price of 1 and 3 times the quality. They have a very slim profile, a nice point, are sharp, and the blades line up and meet the entire cutting length .

Awesome Tool for 3D Printing!!!!!
Hi,I just want to say that I am in love with these. I run a 3D Printing channel and I used the small snips and side cutters but these are worth the money. The cut straight, easy, and give a very clean edge when removing PLA and ABS filament supports. The grips are comfortable and I love the length of the handles. The handles allow me to get good leverage when making cuts on thicker materials.I am a hobbyist and this things are great when getting in and getting a straight edge cut.I highly recommend the purchase and plan to purchase a second pair!!!!ThanksMike

Became extremely dull quickly
At first these cut so easily and smoothly, I was thrilled!!! Then one whole tip went flying while attempting to cut a simple jumpring!!! Filed for and received a replacement... They cut well like the 1st pair until after few uses, they became extremely dull and would no longer cut easily or smoothly... I only used these for jewelry making purposes, cutting thin chain/jumprings, so the fact that they deteriorated in quality so easily without much use makes them NOT of good value or quality... Just submitted my return because these are practically useless to me... Guess I should have payed more attention to the low quality when the razor sharp tip went aimlessly flying with the 1st pair!!!
