I purchased this little Qnap NAS to offer my wife better security for her business files. We already use a biggish 10 year old Terramaster but thought this little Qnap connected as a Raid device might give just that added piece of security in a closed loop off the www.Given that its only 2 bay and my Terramaster is 4, the Qnap has a bigger footprint. Its also made of plastic instead of metal. So thats the negatives out of the way.I was really impressed on how easy it is to install and setup. It took less that half an hour to get it up and running (without files), Its also much quieter than the Terramaster and I don't have to sit on a foam pad.The Qfinder software is good, and although I haven't found any use for them as yet there are more apps than offered for my 10 year old Terramaster.Both quick and secure. I love it. I just wish the lan indicator wasn't so manic.

Very good and reasonable price NAS, it is very good for small home user use, easy to set up for little IT knowledge user (not me hahah) , the best thing is I with my family can use my mobile app to upload and download/view my file/photo/video, do my job while not at home. Only recommend one thing is hope QNAP has better user menu, it is hard for someone understand about this if not do the research before

Easy enough to connect and get running, but non-intuitive to use. When I try to sync folders like photos and music all the files end up in both folders on the server. The is an annoying alarm sound which goes off several times a day and I can’t find out why it how to stop it.I’ll get there eventually, but a real pain.

Software is very intuitive, great support for any issues. Lots of utilities available too, like android apps for syncing your phone to the nas. Highly recommend.

Easy hardware setup but software and apps a bit complicated. Works well with Plex, which was my main requirement.

Purchased to replace one purchased in 12 years ago.

J'adore les nas de Qnap.. j'en ai plusieurs et je suis toujours très satisfait. Dommage que les prix soient trop élevés depuis 2 ans.

Ho acquistato il TS-431K per necessità personali. Il 431K è un nas a 4 baie, con un ottimo processore (buone prestazione e basso consumo) e una quantità di ram più che sufficente per un uso nella norma (backup, condivisione files e materiale multimediale ecc). Inutile a mio avviso avere 2 o 4gb se non servono. (la sostanziosa differenza di prezzo puo' essere investita in HDD).Il prodotto è arrivato con il QTS (il sistema operativo qnap) in versione 4.XX, che ancor prima di iniziare la configurazione, ho aggiornato alla 5.0.1.2248 versione più recente nel momento in cui scrivo. Consiglio di procedere in questo modo, cosi da avere sempre la versione del sistema operativo con il numero maggiore di bug e falle risolte. La configurazione del Nas si presenta semplice ed intuitiva. La prima operazione da fare è creare l'utente adiministrator principale, vi consiglio di disattivare "admin" ed inserire un vostro personale nome utente. La creazione del volume (nel mio coso ho scelto un raid5) avviene in tempi ragionevoli, cosi come l'inserimento del prodotto in lan. Ultimamente leggo in giro di gente che lamenta di essere colpita da ransomware o malware in genere, su nas qnap, questo è purtroppo un dato di fatto negli ultimi tempi , ma è anche vero che qnap risolve quasi giornalmente tutti i bug riscontrati, quindi il reale problema è anche la scarsa abitudine alla "manutenzione" ordinaria di alcuni utenti. Un nas va anche monitorato ed aggiornato, a livello software, quando il produttore rilascia un upgrade. Consiglio quindi di acquisire buone abitudini, aggiornando quando necessario il Nas, così da prevenire questi potenziali problemi. Ricapitolando: aggiornare sempre il sistema operativo all'ultima versione disponibile, non usare l'utente "admin" come amministratore, utilizzate l'autenticazione a 2 fattori, evitare l'esposizione diretta tramite ip (o ddns) del nas, utilizzate il mycloud messo a disposizione da qnap creandovi il vostro qnapID o tramite una VPN, tenete sempre attivo l'antivirus a bordo. Cosi i rischi si riduco quasi a zero. Questo nas è semplicemente favoloso e a mio avviso ha ancora un rapporto qualità prezzo molto elevato. L'ultima accortezza, abbinate sempre dischi con tecnologia CMR, ultimamente vedo tanti dischi SMR, venduti senza questa indicazione (vedesi i Seagate Barracuda). Purtroppo i dischi SMR ammazzano le prestazione dei NAS. Tanto per fare 2 nomi, abbinate con tranquillità i WD RED PLUS, oppure se amate i Seagate (io no!) gli IRONWOLF.
