Salisbury-Balfour
This is an excellent follow-up from Salisbury and his attempt to maintain traditional leadership in the Conservative party in the Cecil family. These two books on PMs Salisbury and Balfour provide an excellent introduction to the last stand of the Tory aristocracy before the Liberal challenge from Bannerman-Campbell, Asquith and Lloyd George. An excellent start to understanding modern British politics.

A good brief biography of a little-known PM
Balfour is a bit of a mystery, and his reputation is that of a hopeless failure. Many people are quite unaware that he was so significant a figure in world history thanks to his "Balfour Declaration" re the Jews and Palestine. But I was curious to find out how he was ever entrusted with these positions in the first place. This book goes a long way to explaining why.

balfour
a nice concise easily (overpriced) understood book - One fault I found was there were photos of people and no captions - Some were obviously Balfour but others I couldn't tell.
