Great Fluorocarbon Line at a Budget-Friendly Price!
Great Fluorocarbon Line at a Budget-Friendly Price!I've been using the Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line for a few seasons now, and for the price, it's hard to beat. If you're looking for a dependable fluorocarbon that won't break the bank, this is a great option.✅ Invisible Underwater – True to its name, this line really does “vanish” in the water. It's perfect for clear water conditions when fish are being picky. I've definitely noticed more strikes compared to using mono.✅ Good Abrasion Resistance – I've dragged this line across rocks, wood, and thick vegetation, and it holds up better than expected. It's not indestructible, but it performs well for the cost.✅ Works Well as Leader or Main Line – I mainly use it as leader material for bass and trout fishing, and it handles knots and connections well. It’s stiff enough to hold shape but not so rigid that it’s hard to work with.❗ A Little Stiff with Some Memory – Like many fluorocarbon lines, it does have some memory, especially in the heavier pound tests. If you're using it as a mainline, you might want to condition it or let it sit on your reel a bit to reduce that coil effect.💲 Great Value – You’re not paying top-dollar here, but you’re still getting solid performance. It’s a great way to try out fluoro if you’re switching from mono or braid.Bottom Line:Whether you're a weekend angler or out every chance you get, Berkley Vanish gives you great performance at a fraction of the price of some premium fluoro lines. Not perfect, but definitely reliable and effective. I keep a few spools in my tackle bag at all times.

Nice line.
I bought this line for a new reel , I’ll be using for larger Bass and stripers. At first I was getting frustrated because it had so much memory. So what is I did was soak it in a bucket of warm water and that solved the memory problem. I had no problem with a spool knot. It actually held better than I expected it to. Nice and tight

Good for Short-Term Use, But Quality Degrades Quickly
This Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon line has some pros, but it's best suited for short-term use. I've found that it works well for trout and bass fishing, especially when using lighter gear. The line is nearly invisible underwater, which is a huge advantage when targeting fish in clear waters, and it handles nicely on the reel when fresh. However, durability is a significant drawback. After one or two fishing trips, the quality starts to drop noticeably. You’ll find yourself stripping the line off and re-spooling sooner than expected. Only high-quality knots hold well with this line; otherwise, it tends to snap under pressure. If you aren’t confident in tying strong knots, this may not be the best option for you.Overall, it’s a decent line if you catch it on sale, but don’t expect it to last beyond a few outings. Good for specific trips, but there are more durable options out there for regular use.

Doing great with drop-shot
Purchased this for an upcoming trip up to Canada where I'll be doing a fly in for the walleye season opener. In preparation I hit local lakes and ponds for bass and other local species and have had great success with both jigs and drop shot. Have fished side by side with a buddy that was using straight braid tied on, I caught 2-3x more fish with the fluoro leader on. It certainly helps with finicky fish.*** Post Fly in update: I ran the floro leader up in Rainy Lake for the Walleye opener and I noticed a HUGE difference in sheer volume of strikes compared to previous years. When the bite was on I was catching fish every 10-15m and when it was off I seemed to be the only guy hitting. The other guys were using wire leaders and after 2 days pretty much everyone switched to Floro. Never had any issues losing pike, walleye, or lakers and I caught trophy size fish in all 3 species. I would recommend every time you tie on, give your line a firm pull to test both your line to line knot and the terminal knot. I did have 1-2 instances where I tested and the line snapped from wear, but it’s well worth it.

Great line
I use a lot of this fluorocarbon in my fishing. Some of my reels are completely spooled with it, but otherwise I always use a good length as a leader for other fishing. The line literally disappears in the water

Good 4 lb leader
I don’t use fluorocarbon as my main line. I only use it as a leader. I used 4 lb vanish as a leader for 2 lb Trout Magnet SOS line and 6 lb KastKing Flurokote. Of least the 4 lb version is great. It’s strong and works very well with standard uni knots and loop knots. I haven’t had a single problem with the knots or the line and have caught between 10 and 15 blue gill. There are some negative reviews out there with regard to vanish, but I have pulled lots of branches out of the pond without incident and caught many more fish than usual. This stuff and trout magnet SOS are great finds. I don’t know how it behaves as a main line, but I can testify to the strength and abrasion resistance of the vanish and I would not be a fan of any pure fluorocarbon as a main line.
