Warm, Cozy Lighting for Home & Lake Nights
I absolutely love these Brightech Ambience Pro 48ft outdoor string lights. They create such a warm, cozy atmosphere and really elevate any outdoor space. The lighting is soft and inviting but still bright enough to enjoy being outside in the evening. The quality feels great and they seem very durable, which is important for outdoor lights. The waterproof design is a big plus and gives peace of mind when leaving them outside through normal weather. One thing I really appreciate is that the cord is thicker and fairly tangle resistant, which makes setting them up and storing them much easier than some other string lights I’ve used. They’re also a great value for the money considering the quality and length of the lights. I liked them so much that I actually bought one set for my home and another set for my floating lake house (“Floasis”). Overall these lights look beautiful, feel well made, and instantly make any outdoor space feel more relaxed and inviting.

Great fence lights
We have installed 9 sets along our backyard fencing and two in the front Ligustrum trees. We absolutely love how these bistro lights illuminate our back yard and front walkway! We've installed them along the top framing boards all along our red stained fence. We used exterior wood screws at each bulb and also 3/8" black plastic clips between bulbs to keep the wire tight against the fence. These lights are professional quality for sure. The bulb base forms a watertight seal when screwed-in. We used to run cheap Holiday lights along the fencing, but grew tired of constantly identifying and replacing burned-out bulbs. We prefer LED lights that run directly from 110VAC. An added benefit to running these sets along the back fence line is I now have AC power all the way in the back yard for use if needed. The Brightech lights will illuminate with all or just one light bulb installed. All the bulbs were securely packaged and all arrived in working order. None have caused any problems and all are still illuminated nicely. We like having our backyard illuminated for a nice nightime lighting scene as well as for security. The Edison style bulbs look great, especially when dimmed. Home automation wall switches automatically light from dusk to dawn. We look forward to seeing the lights come on during our evening wine walks in the yard. The Lights are on! We are glad we waited for LED lightbulb technology to advance prior to purchasing these quality bistro lights. We are so happy we made the investment in these lights from Brightech. We couldn't be happier. These bistro lights are very bright at full illumination. We had to install dimmers to achieve the right illumination level. Reading all the reviews I was convinced these bulbs were dimmable. I purchased knowing a dimmer may be required. At full-bright I can mow the backyard at night. That was fun! We normally have them nicely dimmed. This X-10 dimmer wall switch (X-10 Pro Three-Way Dimmer Switch Model XPDI3-IW) works perfectly with the Brightech bulbs as-is. No need to run one incandescent bulb. Fully dimmable from full-dim to full-bright. The X-10 switch remembers its last setting. We used the Lutron Credenza C.L Plug-In Lamp Dimmer for dimmable LED, Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs, TTCL-100H-WH, White dimmer for the front lights in the Ligustrum tree. We can assuredly state that this dimmer does NOT work properly with these bulbs. That's OK since we just installed one incandescent appliance bulb into the string. It's actually fun trying to spot that one bulb during our evening wine walks in the yard. With the one appliance bulb, the lights are now fully dimmable from full-dim to full-bright. Boy are they bright! Illuminates the whole front yard and into the street! Turn those babies down a bit. These are great lights and we are absolutely ecstatic in our selection.

Exactly as described, possibly even better!
I purchased 4 of these light sets and I found them to be exactly as the description said. They are definitely heavy duty, the construction of them is excellent. The packaging was also exceeded my expectations. All of the bulbs were individually wrapped in bubble wrap and packaged in their own individual box inside another box which was inside the main box to prevent damage during shipping (yes, 3 boxes, plus the amazon shipping box). I connected all 4 strands end to end plugged into one outlet. Each "run" (unsupported length) was almost 40ft and I zig zagged them between the pool enclosure and a couple of steel poles I installed. I used a stainless steel cable coated with black PVC to hang the lights from so that the cable carried all the load and the lights had little to no tension on the cords. I did underestimate the "heavy duty" nature of this light set. They were easily twice the overall weight of similar strands of lights I had seen in Wal-Mart, etc... so take that in mind depending upon what you are attaching them to. You will either have a lot more "sag" or a lot higher tension in the cable you hang them from than you would with cheaper, light duty sets.... I am hoping this increase in weight also means more longevity in the Florida heat and sun. Normally I would have treated these like Christmas lights and tested them before I installed them - but the quality and packaging was so good, I just hung all 4 strands. It was a lot of work up and down that ladder 100+ times and I would not have been too happy if I had to take a strand down, but I am happy to report that when I flipped the switch, all 4 light strands and 100% of the bulbs all worked exactly as they were supposed to! The lights are fairly bright and I found that a dimmer is required for our intended use. They are not overly bright, just compared to the other lights in the yard, on the house, and the pool lights - they overpower instead of blend in. I DO like the fact that they are brighter however because after the party is over and its time to clean up - I can turn them onto full power and it helps to see better when cleaning everything up late at night. Like many, I also purchased that -100 dimmer. It did cause my 4 light strands to flicker and it is annoying. I did find one setting that worked to get me through the first couple of nights. I am going to try to use one of the regular light bulbs to stabilize the load as was stated in the "questions" section related to this product. i am hoping this will help give me a little more control over the lighting level. My the neighbors love them and they all commented positively on the quality of the lighting sets. I have only had them up for 3 days - so it's too early to speak about long term - and once I try the new light bulb, I will try to report back on the ability to better control the light levels through the dimmer. All I can say is these are exactly as described, if not even better!

Attractive, high quality, heavy duty -- good for stringing over a deck
These sets are a lot more expensive than the stuff you'll find in stores at Christmas, but the quality is apparent. The cord is heavy, like outdoor extension cord thick. And the sockets appear to be very solid and well sealed once you put a bulb in. We've only had our lights up for a few weeks, so we can't speak to their durability, but I expect them to last based on the construction. The lights are very attractive and the Edison effect is great for the LED bulb. Also the color temperature of the lights is very attractive. We haven't tried any dimmer with them, so I can't verify that functionality. Even though the lights have that little loop, I recommend using black zip ties to secure the strand to a guide wire of 16 or 14 gauge. We used 14 just for the extra heft. A cable tie on each end of the little T joint at every bulb and an extra one halfway between each bulb makes it look nice. Use black ties and trim the excess. Beware that there are a few feet between each bulb. They are not as close together as they appear in the sample photo; the photo is if you doubled up the strand. However, the brightness of the lights ensures you won't have dim spots. In fact, if there were more bulbs or they were closer together it would be overpowering. I wonder about replacement bulbs. The set comes with the exact number you need, so be careful not to drop any! They are LEDs, so their service life should be long, but I'd want to make sure to be able to get a matching replacement if we lost one.

Absolutely spectacular lighting option for outdoor patio, deck or lanai
I must say I am very impressed with these lights and even more impressed with the seller. The first string I received had one bad socket and I tried every fix I could find on Amazon questions and reviews. I wrote to the seller and had another string within days. Accolades to their customer service. The 48-foot string of lights are up around a covered area of my lanai and they are absolutely beautiful. Contrary to other reviewers, I do NOT find these lights as being too bright. The brightness is perfect for my needs and my wife is very impressed with the look. I bought a dimmer just in case but doubt I will use it. Yes, you can dim the lights with Amazon product “Lutron Credenza C.L Plug-In Lamp Dimmer for dimmable LED, Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs, TTCL-100H-BL.” The seller said you can also use a remote dimmer found at http://amzn.to/2pVzRXd. I hung the 48-foot string of lights using plant hooks with toggles in the ceiling and very small cable ties from your local hardware store. Here are a few tips. 1. Test all sockets before you hang the string. It does not take as long as you might think. 2. Test all bulbs before you hang the string. Again, that is a quick process. 3. If using cable ties, insert the ties in the holes before hanging string. Leave them loose as they can be tightened after the string is up 4. You do not need a hook for each light and you do not need a support wire. They are quite sturdy. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with these lights. If you think they are expensive, go take a look at individual, low light LED bulbs at your local Lowes or Home Depot for a reality check.

Really, REALLY Nice string lights .... VERY strong and feel well made , BUT......
I highly recommend these lights they look great and give a great feel to the back yard & patio. They are very bright if you just plug them into a power source but I wanted to be able to dim them since I got the dimmable version. I read a lot of reviews about people complain about them flickering and "YES" they do flicker on my dimmer but for me only on MAX power on my dimmer switch that I have them installed on BUT ..... if I decrease the power to 80-85% brightens then they stay on fine with NO flickering. I have no issue with the lights from 0%-85% brightness on a dimmer switch but once I go brighter I start to get the flickering. for now 85% is just fine and if I need that 15% more brightness, I can just unplug from the dimmer switch & plus them directly into a reg plug. not the end of the world . hope this helps . the dimmer switch I had installed in my deck is the LUTRON CL Dimmer SCL-153PR-WH 150 W DIMMABLE LED or CFL

Heirloom quality lights
Unlike many reviewers, I paid full price for this product and did not receive any discount from the manufacturer. I wish that had been offered to me, but alas. Despite the large number of reviews that indicated they'd received a discount in return for their review--which frankly makes the positive reviews seem suspect, even with the disclaimers (the appearance of impropriety is impropriety), I purchased these lights anyway because they looked like the quality product I'd been searching for to rebuild a vintage set of (cheesy but much-loved) colored lanterns that we use on a screened porch at our little summer cottage. The old lantern string featured a bulb base size that I could no longer find, and when the bulbs started failing I was stuck. I tried adapters, but they didn't work. This plastic set of colored lanterns probably cost $1.99 30 years ago, so rebuilding it with a $120 LED light string probably is ridiculous, but we love these lanterns and feel they're irreplaceable, and were therefore worthy of a high-quality upgrade. (Plus, it seems like I throw away 4 or 5 Christmas light strings every season, so I was sick of buying cheap lights that can't even last for a year and didn't want that sort of lousy quality for our porch.) Much searching had still not uncovered the perfect solution to rebuild my lanterns, at least not till I stumbled upon the Brightech LED light string. I debated for some time whether to buy the incandescent version for half the cost, but in the end I felt LED was the way to go for the long term...and these lights really ought to last just about forever, I have to say. This is probably the nicest light string I've ever seen, and just the ticket for our requirements. Our application has only twelve colored lantern shades (the light string is 15 sockets/lamps), so I ended up with three unused sockets, which isn't a problem for us but in case anyone's counting the lights in my photos, that's why. This means I have four spare bulbs, as the product shipped with a full case of 16 excellent-looking LED bulbs, all packaged carefully in padded boxes. Not that LED bulbs should really ever require replacing from a realistic standpoint, but there you are. For my application, I fitted the sockets into the existing plastic lanterns that we have, and the brightness of the bulbs is perfect with the shades and for our use. The bulbs alone are quite bright, so don't be surprised by that if you're expecting something dimmer like Christmas lights. The bulbs fit into the sockets well, and the rubberized socket ends seem like a good fit and appropriately water tight given the string's outdoor rating. Ours will be used in a covered porch, so that's not strictly a major concern, but again, it just seemed like a quality choice. I'm sure this light string isn't for everyone, but I expect that it will outlast me, and that's just fine. We can't wait to rehang these when our season begins again in a couple months. I feel like it's money well spent, but I suppose only regular use will really tell the tale. Compared to the usual cheap junk out there, however, I feel good about these right out of the box. If they work (and last) as well as they look, then this is a great purchase. The proof is in the pudding, but we'll just have to wait for a season or two to go by before it's possible to report on longevity. On the fence? Buy them. I did. And I'm glad.

Just right for our patio
Good Job Brightech! We are happy with our new patio lighting. Our back patio is pretty dark despite landscape lighting around the pool area and a light fixture at the back door. We wanted to get a little more light so we could enjoy eating dinner on the patio in the evenings. We ordered one strand of these lights to hang along the length of the patio. I was pleasantly surprised to see the heavy-gauge of the wiring provided - these are NOT strings of Xmas lights! To install, we put "J" shaped screw hooks into the bottom of the soffit along the patio and slipped a light over each hook (note the pre-formed holes in the strand above each bulb). This was super easy way to install - quick tip is to drill a small pilot hole for each hook to make it easier to screw in. I also followed one of the previous reviewer's tips and Installed the wiring without bulbs first, to avoid the potential of damaging the bulbs during install; once the wiring string was in place, we then screwed in all the bulbs and powered it up. They look great. Some of the other reviews also suggested that the lights might be too bright and would require a dimmer. We decided to wait on ordering a dimmer until we tried them out - Turns out that the 2W bulbs with 3 foot spacing provide just the right amount of illumination for our space without being too bright, so No need for a dimmer in our situation. I suspect it is very dependent on the look you are trying to achieve, as well as the size area you are trying to light - and of course how many strings you put up. Keep in mind that each of these 2W LED bulbs is said to provide roughly the illumination of a 20W incandescent bulb, so a string of 15 is roughly equivalent to having three 100W floor lamps on the patio.

Great customer service.
Ordered a Warm White set of lights to replace old set. Received a higher temperature white. Although most people may not notice the difference in white, I did when replacing the individual old lights with new ones. When I contacted Brightech about the difference, they were very helpful and nice. The proper lights were immediately shipped to me and they match perfectly. The lights create a warm ambiance and look fantastic. The helpful and responsive customer service was a very positive experience. Will purchase from them again.

Great product like that they are dimmable.
Great product. Have them on a dimmer because they are very bright and we don’t always need them that bright.

Not animal proof
These give off a nice glow. Though I bought them for their hardiness against animal chewing, and sadly they were like treats to the squirrels. They easily chew off the bulbs, shutting down the entire strand. So if you can place them out of reach of critters, they're great.

Decent quality except for two failed bulbs and a lack of customer service.
Customer service is non-existent. Twice I have emailed the company looking to get replacement bulbs that have died and have yet to received a response.
