Shan curry powder is one of my favorites, I've never been disappointed

I love many different Indian dishes and was hoping that this would be an easy go to mix. Unfortunately, for me it is way too spicy. I tried to bring down the heat with more yogurt/milk products but it was still too much! I will have to search some more...

I was looking for a spice or a mixture of spices that enhances the experience of eating certain boring dishes such as chicken breasts and this product hits the spot. It has a unique blend of spices and does not contain any msg or additives but only real ingredients; obtaining these ingredients on my own would be very time consuming and expensive so this adds value to the product. Product quality has been consistent, satisfying my expectations.

Shan's is a family staple. They've been in our pantry for the last decade at least. Though I believe we might have had them since the late 90's.I had one problem with my order, at no fault of Shan's and they were swift with a reply and helped me with my problem. They have excellent people on their customer service team and are dedicated to sharing authentic Pakistani and Indian flavors.I would highly recommend them, and will absolutely buy from their store again.

The whole household loves the taste of this recipe. However understand that is only the spice package in the box. Make sure you have the rest of the ingredients at home and some time to combine everything.

This makes a yummy tasting dish. Downside is that it is high in sodium. Also, the packages looked liked they had been jostled around a lot, so there were a couple of tiny holes in every foil envelope inside. That means a lot of "dust" from the powder inside was puffing out, as the package was no longer completely sealed. Makes me a bit nervous to think the product could have been tampered with, but I used one package already and I'm fine. So foil packaging could be better.

The shan spice mixes are such a great cheat - I have used them for years to make authentic tasting indian food (an indian colleague recommended them to me). The chana masala is a particular favourite. I'm surprised at the negative reviews because when I cook this it always goes down a storm. It is a cheap and easy way to create a delicious chickpea curry because you don't have to have a cupboard full of spices - the exact blend needed has already been created. It is quite salty but I like that for chana masala; I don't find it too much. I always have a box of this in the cupboard.
