Are batteries required

No, it does not need batteries. :)

you remade three sets will you ever remake more because I really want the alien autopsy and the organ grinder

It looks like this question is for the manufacturer. I am just a person selling it. Thanks!

Is there an expiration date on the refills? And edible items

It has never been opened. But I just saw on the outside of the box that the food pouches are expired. May 2014. I know they no longer make this toy but I am not sure if they still make the refills. I think they do.
