Keeps cat from binging and purrging
So our cat -- like many cats -- would scarf her food and then barf it all back up. Gross. She especially liked barfing in locations where she was comfortable, like the kid's bed, or on the bathroom rug. Double gross. While she has not been amused that she has to work harder for her kibble, she is eating out of this bowl, and she is NOT barfing her food back up. Have a barfer? Buy this.

Cure for the fast eaters
Solution to the scarf and barf my cats have been doing since putting them in a diet.Works well to slow down the eating. I did find they were spilling some food off the edges, put it on a tray to contain any spillage.

Perfect for fast/over-eaters
This is the most perfect bowl I could find with the height of the fishies I thought was best for a cat to eat from. My fast/over-eater cat actually has to take his time eating, though after having it for a while he has realized how to up his eating speed, where at first he was confused and saw it as a challenge. Once in a while we still have to call for him to slow down. He used to throw up at least once a day for inhaling his food but now it's once a week at most. Super easy to clean! If you have multiple cats like me (who now have to suffer because one cat can't control himself with a free feeder lol) you will have to fill it a few times a day but I gotta say our food supply has lasted so much longer after getting this bowl. We always refill after it's empty but I guess it's because my cat isn't eating half the bowl then throwing it up!

Only slow feeder my throw up queen uses
1) This is only slow feeder Xena uses. I've bought others to no avail. Other cats will use them, but not Xena, the throw up queen. Slow feeders won't work if cat refuses to use them. Xena will use this consistently.2). It slows down her eating speed unless she's starving! She will gulp down her foods if I didn't feed her for over 10 hours. (I was.exhausted and woke up very late). So this feeder won't work perfectly if your cat is extremely hungry. In which case, Xena ate, then promptly threw up.3). In general, I feed our female cats several times a day, small portions each time. This way, they are not starving. In which case, this fish, slow feeder works exceptionally well. Most days Xena didn't throw up. A vast improvement from daily vomit to several vomit daily.4) No whiskers fatigue since it's a dish. Food fits neatly between the fishes, and fairly easy to clean.Overall, I am delighted with my purchase. I only mark it 4 stars because it doesn't work when starving Xena Hoovers up the kibbles. If you serve your cat smaller portions several times a day, this slow feeder should work fine.5) Not needing to re-feed Xena due to throw ups means I will recover the price of the slow feeder soon.

Good dish for dry cat food
I like the size and sturdiness of this. It is also very cute with the fish/dolphins that are raised. My cats don't use their paws to get the food, they figured out how to eat as if it were a regular dish. It does slow them down some though so that's good. I do however wish the fish/objects were a bit higher so they were forced to use their paws and couldn't get around them with their mouth but overall I do like it!

Good for a cat who eats too fast
I have a cat who is prone to scarf-and-barfing. When we bought this, he was regurgitating nearly every meal. He's not smart, so it took him a few days to understand how to use it. While waiting for this to come in, we introduced the concept of eating around an obstacle by putting binder clips in the old cat food bowl. So he wasn't /too/ confused by it. He liked it better than the binder clips. It holds 1/4 cup of dry cat food easily. I think it could hold up to 1/2 cup without piling up too high to defeat the purpose. It is very easy to clean. It is bigger than a standard cat food bowl - probably about twice as wide.It is sturdy enough. My cat has never tried to flip it over or anything. It certainly holds up to standard use. This was a good purchase and I recommend it to anyone with a gluttonous cat.

Really does work
Our cat would gorge himself really fast then throw up. This has slowed him down and now he digests his food properly.

Definitely works!
One of my two cats loves to eat his food too fast and then regurgitate it a few minutes later. After a year of trying different things, I finally decided to give these slow feeders a chance. Thankfully both of my cats didn’t hesitate and ate off of them right away. He still sometimes regurgitates, but maybe once a week (if that) where as before it was at least 5+ times a week. So if you have a cat who eats super fast and regurgitates... I highly recommend.
