Very well written; Eknath Eswaran applies the Gita to our current lives.
After reading and really liking volume 1, I am on to 2 and 3.

Translation and Commentary at its finest
I've read The Bhagavad Gita in many variations and translations, and always I'm looking for that one that'll make sense. These Hindu epics aren't easy to understand because of the layers of meaning. As a yoga teacher and student of Eastern philosophy I felt compelled to deepen my studies though sometimes I felt a little lost. Everything by Eknath Easwaran has been good, I trust him as a translator and commentator and his renderings are applicable to real world 21st century life. Reading his work can enrich your spiritual practice.

I read the three volumes several years ago and learned much from them. These three I bought as a gift for a young couple who just got engaged to each other (both of Indian descent).

Practical handbook for living
Easwaran’s translation of the Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living is a great source of inspiration and hope, filled with humor and compassion. The writing illuminates ancient Hindu teachings in a way that they can be easily understood by people from all cultures and backgrounds today. Using tales from his own childhood, and examples he sees in the world, Easwaran gives meaning to concepts that might otherwise seem remote.I have been reading and rereading this three-volume set of books for many years, just a few pages each morning. There is always a kernel that sheds some light on how I can better navigate my daily challenges, both the ordinary ones and the moments of crisis. This is more than a translation of an ancient text for me – it is a practical handbook for living.

An Honest Material
A non-gulit read, however unintentionally, will stir your conscious and unconscious levels. One day at a time to take baby steps, the next day and days after that will gradually if one allows himself to welcome the desired transformation to feel better to live in 'your skin.' Regrdless of your past and current situation, the change for better living is at the tip of your finger. Accepting your ' bag of issues' and ask forgiveness to yourself first and then others will promise a better living.
