Alfred's Basic Adult Theory Piano Book Level Two

Great piano theory book. Exactly what I needed. Arrived the next day.

At 70+ I started taking piano lessons and ordered Levels One, Two and Three of the Piano Theory books. I also ordered Levels One, Two and Three of the Adult All In One Course books. I especially like the theory portions of the books because I leave the books in my car so that they are always available. While I am waiting to pick up the grandchildren from school I do the theory exercises. The Theory books repeat a lot of what's in the Adult All In One Course Books. However the Theory books are left in my car and a write all my notes in them. The books have really helped me to advance in my lessons at a faster pace.

I'm taking piano lessons late in my life.......always wanted to play. I have been able to learn a lot on my own with the Alfred's Basic Adult books........finished Book 1 and starting Book 2. This series is easy to understand but also quite challenging. I ordered the Sacred Hymns book that goes with Book 1 and am playing all the hymns in the book........just want to play gospel songs but am able to play others as well. I'm currently on my second year of lessons.........highly recommend this series.

Every page was written on. A thoroughly used book. The material itself looks great, so this review does not reflect content of Alfred's Theory.

I got all six books, before when I was taking piano lessons, I only had one book and that was level one. So I'm trying to get back into taking piano lessons and you gotta start somewhere. There's a couple more that I have to order, just so I don't get charged too much when I do find an instructor. Hopefully having the books I need in my possession will make the lesson price a bit easier on the pocket.

I'm 69 years old, and just now learning to play the piano. This book was recommended by my piano teacher and it works well along with Basic Adult Piano Book one, Lesson one. I would recommend to any adult wanting to learn to play.

As a former music major, and piano teacher, I think this series of Theory books, as well as those of almost all other publishers, are primarily intended to "sell more books". Either that, or they're intended for students who just aren't very bright. There are better, and way more efficient ways to present the same information which would result in less busy work, making it far more interesting even for students of just average.ability. On the other hand, it saves a lot of teaching time (and effort).
