I put two of these mats on my condo patio to have a quick option for bathroom breaks while we were potty training. It definitely wasn’t the preferred option, but these were a real lifesaver when my dog had “that look” on her face. It was also a great way to get her acclimated to the act of going outside on her own when she had to go - I could leave my patio door open so she could come and go as she pleased, and it didn’t take long for her to get into a good routine. She eventually designated one as a makeshift bed and took care of her business on the other. These definitely require regular hosing down, and even then they aren’t meant to last forever - but they served their purpose for me.

My dog initially wouldn’t go on it, even though we have one at home outside where she goes. We are visiting family on a 3rd floor condo and it got tiring taking her down and up the stairs every 2 hours, especially since we got sick while visiting. I took newspaper outside and when my do had to go Number 1, I slid the paper underneath her to collect a sample. Then put it in a plastic bag and took it up to the turf and rubbed it on there. After that, she knew what to do and it has saved so much time. My dog is only 10 lbs. so she easily fits on it but it could be wider. I bought dog pee pads from the dollar tree and put them underneath it. Also, I got free boxes at the grocery store to make walls so she wouldn’t walk away. It works!!

I purchased this ultimately because I was getting a puppy and lived on the forth floor in an apartment complex. I wanted to make potty training easier for him being able to easily access a potty station. So far, it has worked LIKE A CHARM! I do clean it once a week, along with the towels. However, it is thinner than it says and doesn’t absorb as well. I have towels underneath mine so it doesn’t leak. I will also say it is not very big, but it works. This was a good cheap alternative and was great functioning wise.

So I gave this a five star for the actual purpose of potty training! It took about 2 days before my pup actually used it for the bathroom. We live on a 3rd floor apartment, so this comes in handy for when you think your pup cant make it outside, or on bad weather days when getting outside isnt the easiest! After about 2 days, my pup has used this many times on my balcony! It has been great for potty training! I try to take my dog out as much as possible while potty training because hes only 9 weeks old, but this is definitely a life saver for a little pups small and unpredictable bladderOnly downside? It doesnt smell so pleasant, especially in the high heat and humidity area I live in during the summer months. Cleaning is definitely a hassle on a 3ed floor apartment, but I dont plan on him using it forever, just while potty training! Great product!

This is a piece of crap. Save your money. It’s rough and “scuzzy”; my dog hates it, I hate it, and Amazon should be ashamed for even selling it, and especially for nearly $20!!! It isn’t very long, it’s very narrow-my small dog couldn’t even do a circle on it without stepping off it-and it smells awful. Opening it up and “airing it out” didn’t help at all. The picture on the website shows a big dog lying down on it—do not believe it. There is no way a big dog, even a medium sized dog, could lie down on it and not overhang onto grass or dirt or patio, etc. Nor would any dog want to, because it smells so awful. I was hoping this would work for cold, rainy, snowy, days, but I’ll keep looking. This cheaply made piece of trash is worse than the snow and rain and cold. Keep your money. Spending it on this is the same as flushing your money down the toilet.

I purchased the mat for my dog to use when we were away from home. While we are away, he is able to go out the doggy door and do his business on the back deck. We use it because he doesn't have access to the grass when we aren't home. I spray soapy water on the mat and use the garden hose to rinse it off. Easy to clean and helps to keep accidents away.

Grass falls off easily. Not good idea for puppies who like to chew. I would not leave in kennel with pup overnight.

I have 2 of these, one for home and one for work, to use while potty training our new pup. Since he’s too young to use the grass at work (public space, too many unknown animals), I use these at work all day and to make sure he’s got some familiarity, I use this for the middle of the night potty breaks at home.While they’re a good solution for the temporary training timeline, the one pad I have at home REEKS! But only that one. I rinse them well, but the one smells so bad, I’m going to have to throw it out. The one at work is totally fine, no foul sour odor like the one at home. I’m not sure why one is so disgusting (it’s used far less frequently even) and the other is just fine. It’s frustratingly strange.Overall, this is a decent temporary solution to house training while we wait for our boy to be fully vaccinated. The smell on the one at home is unbearable and will have to be thrown out. But I’m reluctant to replace it with the same thing.
