SPOILER!!! What's inside the ? packet...
I have every Enchantimals doll and playset, more than 80 dolls of this size now. I can always trust Enchantimals dolls and accessories (except for the pets) to be well-made, highly-detailed, and unique. The DollArticulation:Head turns side to side and nods slightly. Shoulders are ball joints. Hips move forward only. Knees are not articulated.Hair:Hair is blonde with streaks of silver tinsel. Hair is crisply cut across the bottom. Hair is straight but dented from being wrapped in a rubber band for packaging. The head is tied to the plastic packaging with those awful plastic ties that are hard to remove from the head without accidentally snipping the hair. The gold-colored plastic crown is attached to the head with three plastic ties. The crown is the same mold as the crowns that have come with previous bird Enchantimals (the swan, the duck, and some of the flamingoes). I use fingernail clippers to remove the ties from the crown and head carefully so I don’t damage the hair; I separate the hair as much as possible and clip the tie close to the head, then I push the remaining bit of plastic inside the head. After cutting the ties, you can get the crown to stay on the head in a slightly different position using the tension of the sides of the crown.Face:The head is the closed-mouth mold and is painted with a unique owl-themed paint design.Torso:The painted-on swimsuit is light blue. As usual, only the front top part of the torso has detailed paint; the rest is solid. The detail on this doll is a blue, pink, and white pattern mimicking the look of layered feathers and bird-like fluff, and three buttons and a pink ribbon are painted on top of those. The torso has a tiny belly button dent just under the waistline. The waist is molded, as usual, with a dented waist for the skirt elastic to sit smoothly. As always, I’m not a fan of painted-on clothes; I’d rather have complete outfits like the dolls I had when I was a kid.Clothes:The removable elastic-waist skirt is made of the typical Enchantimals thin fabric with a unique printed design. This time the design is scattered pink, yellow, and blue trees on a pink and white background. The skirt has a fuzzy fur-look white and tinsel trim around the bottom. She wears gold-colored flexible plastic wings that are difficult to keep on her shoulders after cutting the rubber band that ties down her wings and hair during packaging. The wings are from the same mold as the yellow wings that came with the duck Enchantimals doll, but the gold wings are thinner and more flexible than the yellow wings, so the gold wings don’t stay on the doll’s shoulders as well as the yellow wings.Shoes and Feet:This is the first time we’re getting tri-colored shoes! The boots are a new mold with a fur-look trim on top, laces down the front, and a snowflake design on the bottom. The sides of the boots are molded with a scallop trim. The paint is fairly neatly done, considering the tiny size of the details; the molded-on fur-look trim is painted a pinkish burgundy, matching some of the trees in the skirt design, and the laces are painted gold, matching the crown and wings. The boots are slit down the back for easy shoe-swapping with other dolls. The doll’s feet are tippy-toe, as is customary with female Enchantimals. One constant wish for these dolls is that they’d have flat feet. I don’t like how they always look like they’re standing on tippy-toe when they’re barefoot. The OwlsThe owls are not only different colors, sizes, and molds and painted with different faces and feather details, but are also made of different plastics. The white owl is the largest. It has adorable painted details and a tuft of white hair, but the plastic is the kind that leaves a powdery-sticky film on your fingers; I’ll be keeping the white owl in a separate bag with the other Enchantimals dolls that have the same residue problem. The middle size owl is a light tan color, also well-painted with detailed feather lines and has a bit of purple hair, and the body is made of a slightly harder plastic that doesn’t leave residue on your fingers. The littlest owl has a slightly different pose, with one wing in and one out, and also has well-painted feather details. The littlest owl doesn’t have hair on top, and the body is made of a hard plastic.Fortunately, only one of the three owls (the tan-colored owl) has the dreaded hollowed-out hole-and-hook feature. If you’ve read my previous Enchantimals reviews, you might remember that I’m a strong advocate for removing that morbid gaping hole in the back of the pets, with the edges of the hole contorted into a hook shape. The hook is intended to make the pet clip onto the doll’s arm – for some reason. The first problem with that is that it doesn’t work; the pet swings forward and hangs like a purse made of a taxidermied animal. The second problem is that if the hook did work, what would that look like: a pet levitating in front of the doll’s arm??? It’s a face-palm-worthy fail, creepy and ridiculous.AccessoriesSPOILER!!!The ? packet contains three pale pink ice cream cones. They’re from the same ice cream cone mold as the ice creams that have come with other Enchantimals sets. Strange treat for the wintertime. The ice cream cones are foreshadowed a bit in the background design of the packaging.

Cute but Disapointing
This doll is cute but a big disappointment. She is not worth the higher price that she is going for. Her hair has tinsel mixed in, like most of the Snowy Valley Enchantimals. The tinsel hair ends up looking crinkled and scraggly, no matter how many times you brush it. Her gold wings don't stay on by themselves. You have to leave the clear rubber bands on, or they won't stay on. I had high hopes for this one, but sadly, the quality just isn't there.
