They work great until they break.
I love these things, but the plastic cane always snaps at the neck eventually. This is my 3rd or 4th one at this point. I always try to keep a spare around. The plastic these are made of do not like heat. It’ll last longer if you clean it with cool or warm water. That being said, they really do a fantastic job of starting a siphon in a sanitary manner, and the standoff has always been the perfect size for the yeast cake. Honestly, this would easily be 5 stars and worth twice as much if they made them out of stainless.
