Daughter loves it
This iron reminds me of the one I had back in the day. Heating up takes a bit longer than I like but gets nice and hot when ready. Crimps are perfect if you don't use a thick clump of hair. My daughter loves it.

I used to have one
It’s just like the one I used to own back in high school (2011). It works well and it’s just was I was looking for to style my wigs.I just like that it’s small and easy to store the different crimping plates together.

No crimping plate as advertised
Evidently Conair has forgotten what a crimping plate is. I bought this specifically for the crimping plate for an 80s deal. A crimping plate has a very pointed "V" shape to it. These are totally round, so it just creates very tight, small waves and not a crimp to the hair. There is no on/off switch, temperature setting, or indication when it is even ready to be used either. Super disappointed and do not recommend!

Didn't hate it; didn't love it...
Pros: I bought this to use as a crimper for one occasion, then as a straightener for my tween daughter. This was the cheapest crimper and the straightening plates added some value beyond the single use.Cons: Single temperature means it does not heat up enough for thick/coarse hair, so it takes a long time to apply enough heat to each section for results. Also, I expected the 3 plates to crimp, wave, and straighten. However, the plates that I expected would create big, deep waves are, in fact, the ones that are equivalent to an '80s-style crimper. The ones I expected would crimp are teeny tiny bumps that only created enough texture on thick hair to look like frizz, so they are useless for us.Overall, it's a classic "you get what you pay for" situation. It suited my immediate needs as a crimper for the lowest cost I could find, so I don't regret the purchase. However, if I had purchased it with the intent of using all three functions regularly I would have been disappointed with both the quality and the versatility (because only two of the three claims were met). Consider your exact needs before buying.

Great
This is a cute little compact version of the original iron, but it works great!

Not Impressed
My hair has never been difficult to crimp or curl and will hold for several days. However, this particular hair tool will not even leave an impression. It also has no on and off switch, you must plug it in to turn it on and unplug for off.The only plus is, it is very easy to change out the plates.

For crazy crimps!
I recently went to a New Kids on the Block concert and wanted to relive my youth so I got a crimper so I could wear my side pony tail and have it look all crimpalicious. It worked so well that my 8 year old daughter has me crimp her hair nearly every single day. Well, her mother (thats me) was a product of the 80s!
