Excellent affordable kitchen scale
Over all, I am very impressed with this scale! And that batteries actually come with it is a huge bonus. My first impression was that I liked the sleek design of the scale. It does not come with a bowl to hold food though, so do be aware of that. This is easily solved by placing the measuring container of your choice on the scale PRIOR to touring the scale on. This will keep the weight at 0.00 until you add the food your measuring. The read out is super clear and easy to read and the "hello" message made me smile. As someone who counts macros, the most impressive thing is that it measures down to 1/100 of an ounce!!! (See pic). I would definitely recommend.

Great Scale for Home
For the cost, this is an excellent scale for home use. I purchased it for use in a casual dining seafood restaurant for reference. We have a couple of older Edlund stainless steel digital scales that are unfortunately reaching their inevitable demise, however I wasn't really interested in spending +$250.00 just for one scale. As previously stated, this scale is excellent for the cost, works as expected, and greets you with a lovely 'Hello' message upon startup.I only have two complaints about this scale:1.) It's housing is made of plastic making it far less durable which is hugely important in a commercial kitchen2.) The weighing platform can not be removed from the base making it more frustrating to clean regularly.Bottom line is I would absolutely purchase this scale again, just not for heavy use - pun intended.

Accurate and fun!
I am trying to lose weight and was skeptial about a food scale, but now I LOVE IT! This scale in particular is very easy to use and compact in size, so it doesn't take up a lot of room. The box it perfect for storing the scale when I'm not using it. Product reviews and seller info is all very accurate. You can weigh in multiple units (g/kg /lb/oz/etc) and the buttons are easy to read and understand. The TARE function is my new favorite- add a bowl, hit tare and it zero's out so you can add food to the bowl and weight it. I am finding myself weighing everything to ensure my portions are accurate and loving it. Never thought I could be so excited about a food scale! Bonus, this scale comes with a usb charging cord and they include batteries. I definitely reccomend.

Display not stable.
I really wanted to like this scale and was anxious to add it to my kitchen tool set but it's just not good enough even for the price. First, the display, after placing an item on the tray, is not stable and fluctuates widely. Not just up or down 0.1g but over a range of as much as 0.8g (so far in my limited testing) which sort of defeats the purpose of a scale with 0.1g resolution (yes, I know the error is 0.3g but that should be constant not continually changing and a 0.8g range is outside the worst case error). Second, following the seller's instructions for changing the default shut off time (Press ON/OFF and UNIT at the same time, 4 times) does not work. Starting with the scale off, the first press turns the scale on and that's it, no changes after that no matter how many times I press ON/OFF and UNIT at the same time. Third, the documentation says to contact them for any issue but they provide NO contact information. I returned my first scale because of these issues and got a replacement which has exactly the same issues and it's going back too.Update: 12/16/2020 As it turns out, the programming instructions provided were incorrect and that is why I was not able to program the auto shutoff time. The seller has since updated these instructions so the auto shutoff time should be able to be changed (although since I returned the scale before the new instructions were posted I could not verify that they in fact worked). I'd like to note that the programming options include a setting to disable the auto shutoff which I think is a plus.

Decent scale for brewing coffee
I was skeptical buying such an inexpensive ($20) scale, but was pleasantly surprised to find the scale is consistent.I don't know how good the accuracy is; I haven't checked against a calibrated weight, but absolute weight is not as important as ratios when brewing in a French Press coffeemaker, so this scale does a fine job.I especially like that the scale can be powered by three different sources;1. Internal rechargeable Lithium battery2. 3ea AAA alkaline (or NiMh rechargeable) batteries3. External 5V power supply (which charges the internal Lithium battery) to the micro-USB socket on the side. The scale is easy to use and read. There is really only one issue I have found:The buttons are far too sensitive.Your finger doesn't even have to touch the button; it only needs to come very close. This causes a problem if the slightest amount of water drips onto the panel and gets in contact with one of the buttons. The water will act like a button press. This happened to me while I was pouring the hot water into my French Press this morning.I had added the ground coffee and pressed the Tare button. While adding the water (I needed 360g) the display suddenly changed to "25".I had no idea what had happened, but later referred to the manual and realized that I had inadvertently changed the display to read 'Pieces'. This is a useful feature if you want to count pieces.Without knowing what had gone wrong, I removed the pot from the scale and reset it. But i had lost the tare weight of the pot, so I had to estimate the amount of water I needed to add.I had noticed that a very small amount of water had dripped from the kettle as I was pouring into the French Press. Unfortunately, that drop of water landed on the 'Pieces' button and caused the scale to change to that mode.I now keep a note of the weight of my French Press, so that I will always know how much water to add if the scale needs to be reset. My advice to anyone who owns this scale is to take precautions against allowing any liquid to drip onto the panel while measuring.Other than this one fault, I think the Lan Sheng Digital Scale is an excellent value.
