I honestly had no idea what to expect. I have never had flaked salt before. I have only seen bloggers and youtubers use it.This flaked salt was lightly scattered over and around a drizzle of traditional balsamic and sprinkled with finely cracked pepper. Then we lit a couple of small, herbed rosemary butter candles and let the melted butter pool into the balsamic.I normally use a coarsely cracked salt when we do dipping oils. The way the flaked salt sort of lightly shattered between the teeth almost like a toasted bread crust was really, really nice. I much prefer this to using coarse salt.I also purchased another popular flaked salt so I could compare and this one looked much "flakier" than that one. With bigger flakes that have an almost shaved appearance.I am not an experienced flaked salt consumer, but my experience with this one was very good. It doesn't taste particularly different than other salt, but the texture is nice and that seemed to add to the yummy-ness off the dipping oil and fresh bread. Crystals of coarse salt have a bit if a hard crack between your teeth whereas this flaked salt has a pleasantly light shatter that doesn't take center stage. It has a background role instead that is more balanced. Sort of a "now you see it, now you don't " sensory experience on the tongue both with the texture and the flavor. (I wonder what a flavored flaked salt might be like?)I will definitely be experimenting with this salt.If you are in search of a flaked salt with flakes that are a bit larger and sort of shatter between your teeth, this salt will do the trick.Highly recommend.

I bought this primarily for use as a fancy finishing salt and it has not disappointed. Love the comments from guests regarding flavor and appearance. Highly recommend for finishing, not so much for cooking due to difficulty making accurate measurements with this size.

It improves your eating experience by enhancing the texture and visual appearance of the meal! When you bite into the flakes you get a little explosion of salted flavor that improves your dining. I have used on almost everything from steaks to salads.

Salt makes everything taste better. My favorite seasoning is salt. Himalayan pink salt is tasty with health benefits.It can be very salty but crisp.I like salty. 🧂Tip- to taste I would start with a salt pyramid, and crush in between your fingers above your food to give a taste before over salting.You can always add more.This salt is ideal for grilling.Thank you salt gods!I hope this review helps you with your purchases. These salt flakes single-handedly perfect my chocolate chip cookies. There's a really good amount of them and they last a super long time since you typically only need about a pinch. Will purchase again and again.
