Careful, IR LEDs (what sends the IR beam) vary. LEDs require current to flow one direction. Hence, if this unit is wired in reverse from what your extender requires, it won't work. IR remotes work by turning the IR light on and off at some rate. If it is doesn't work at the frequency, that's a problem. Finally, some of these have a 3.5mm (earbud size) two conductor cable (as this one). Some have 3 contacts on the 3.5mm connector (compare to mono to stereo for audio versions). Some others come with 2.5mm jacks (smaller). What does your IR sender use?
