I'm a guy, I don't own a sewing machine and the junky sewing kits I've purchased during the occasional emergency just can't stand up to the heavy duty fabric of a bathing suit. I purchased this kit with the thread and heavy duty needles, and was able to sew around the underwire on my girlfriend's bra. The true test was we went swimming for hours and she didn't complain once about the underwire popping out. This stuff is magic, and really handy to keep around. The thread is pretty thick and will not break from tension like regular thread would.

First off great product and I most definitely recommend it! I was sceptical about buying at first because I always read negative reviews first and many people said the thread and needles are weak. If you know what the effffff your doing when it comes to sewing then yes the needles and thread are heavy duty as stated. I have repaired and modified several Mollie vests and gun holsters with the same needle and I finally snapped my needle today....the material I was sewing was so thick that I had to use needle nose pliers just to pull the needle through. The thread never broke though. The eye loop of the needle broke. I will buy this kit again I'm very pleased with the quality. I will be more careful next time. The needle that broke was the small moon shape. If I was using the straight needle I bet it would of never broke...my mistake

Although I ordered this mainly for the thread, I thought having the needle for perhaps a project down the road would be nice. I haven't had the opportunity to try the thread yet but it appears good. There are only 6 out of the 7 needles. I looked for a loose needle, but it was no where to be found in the package and did not come with the package then fall out.I'll update this if something changes, but right now the missing needle is the reason for a star removal.

Repaired my cars seat belt with this. My dog likes to chew through canvas, idk why, she's gone through hundreds of dollars in leashes because of it. Anyways where it was repaired, it wasn't a hindrance to movement or application, or safety. I doubled up on the thread and the flat tipped/flared needle went through it like butter. No broken thread or needle in the interum. Super easy and quick. Now I've got a surplus left for other projects.

These needles are just what I needed to re-cover some throw pillows with upholstery fabric. The small curved one was ideal for closing the seam after inserting the inner pillow. The needle is very sharp and easily penetrated the fabric. The thread is good quality and performed well in my machine and for hand sewing. Would buy again.

This fairly strong thread, but not really what I would expect for upholstery thread.

Lo compré para arreglar un mono de cuero al que se le había descosido la cremallera. El kit es muy completo, las agujas de momento están funcionando perfectamente, ninguna se ha roto ni doblado. Y el color de los hilos es perfecto, en mi caso eran justo los dos colores que tenía el mono y no he tenido que buscar colores a mayores. Muy recomendable

I really like the large range of useful needles that go with this kit. They cover just about any upholstery job you could wish to carry out. You also get two reels of extra strong thread as well. Great value for money, would recommend it to anyone.
