Mityvac 7201 Fluid Evacuator Plus

Worked great for me on my Toyota: Tundra & Sienna, Mercedes ML350, and Honda Pilot.Oil replacement now is manageable and clean in my garage; it drained all the oil.I know what I put in: 20,000 miles of oil filter, 10,000 full synthetic oil, and a one-time Stainless Steel Magnetic Oil Drain Plug. They don't put that quality in an Oil Change.

I really like this product, but I do have a few issues others should know.First, I used this item to pull oil and failed to watch closely. The oil had filled the container beyond capacity and backed up into the pump. I did contact the manufacturer and they indicated that although the tool does have a value that should prevent this, it can still happen. I also asked if any damage might be caused by this and was told that the oil should cause no damage, but may end up purging the oil until it is completely out of the pump assembly. So I am ok with this, but it does mean that the valve that is in place to prevent this, did not prevent this under a standard operation.My second issue is with the tubing. My issue is the stiffness. I understand that a flexible tube, like a fully flexible silicone for example, would not work for this. There is a need for some rigidity in order to move the tube through dip sticks, fillers, etc. One reason this is an issue is that the tubes get filled with oil, or other fluid. When the tube is this still, the tube can snap off/out of where you are working and end up tossing oil or fluid out with it, causing a mess. You can always and easily just use a different tubing, so this is a minor issue.Overall I like the product and do not regret the purchase. It is easy to operate and does its job well. Although the product did end up sucking oil into the pump, it did not cause any issues other than a need to purge the oil back out. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who may need such a thing. I have used this for motor oil in cars and small engines, power steering fluid, and even adapted it to pull brake fluid through the lines (not recommended).

I'd used the prior model of Mityvac for oil changes until it died of old age (about 10 years in my case). This model costs a little more, but everything works better. Very well made, but you will need to pay attention because it's a little more complex, insuring that the plug is closed and the switch is set to suck rather than spit (it moves fluids both ways). My daughter did her first DIY oil change with this gadget - she was so proud.

Most models of similar brand only offer a recovery pump, but if your into auto repair, you need one that will do both. This is the one!

Easily pulled the hot oil out of the car after a day of driving around. Make sure the top is tightly screwed down and the pour plug is locked. Oil slurped out in 10-15 minutes. I gave it some additional pumps (taking the dipstick tube in and out) to get every drop of old oil. So much better than raising the car, crawling under it, stressing with a stuck drain plug, etc. I did manage a small mess in the garage post extraction, emptying the reservoir to another tank.

Used to change boat and waverunner oil. Warmed engines and oil came out easily. Switched valve and pumped into containers. No spills. Cleaned out with dish soap and water. Looks like new. Only nice to have would be quarts in addition to the liter marks on the side.
