A simple and practical slow cooker. Excellent value.
This is my third slow cooker and the best. I prefer a dial as opposed to a digital display. I only replaced my other two slow cookers as I needed a larger one each time. I love the 6.5 litre size. I put a whole fresh chicken in it with 5ml of water in the bottom, bay leaves, passata at times, seasoning, herbs, on low - at the end of the day I steam some rice and veg to go with it and the meat falls off the bone, all the children love it too. I put raw mince into this slow cooker with passata and seasoning, raw diced onions, oxo etc on high for an hour then low for 4-6 and you have bolognaise sauce.. their are endless recipes on facebook and online for a slow cooker. You can use leftovers to make a stew, make soups, and use cheaper cuts of meat as they are tenderised in this cooker, the children now eat beef casserole as the beef just melts in your mouth from slow cooking. Remember to use less liquid as it's not reduced as it would be in a pan. I cannot live without my slow cooker. I love this design, simple to use, excellent value and nutritional food for my family.

Good service
Used this to make a delicious chunky chicken soup at the weekend. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a light to indicate that it's on but other than that it works perfectly

Brilliant!!
This was a replacement for my Russell Hobbs 6L Slow Cooker purchased from Amazon in 2008, which I used frequently! The pot had cracked & I toyed with the idea of purchasing just a replacement pot direct from RH but for the price it was going to cost to replace it (£14 + £4 p & p) I thought that it was time for a new machine. This is much smaller than my old one but fits better on my kitchen unit and, as we’re a family of just 2 adults, is absolutely ideal for our needs. I always tend to go with ‘basic’ & this is no exception, with just 2 heat settings (low & high) & a ‘keep warm’ setting, it’s practical. I’ve used it twice since I had it! I generally use a timer switch too so the machine turn itself on when I’m at work and the meal’s ready when I get back. It’s easy to clean and much more manageable than my old one. I used the Amazon Warehouse which was slightly cheaper at £17.59) and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. This is a brilliant machine from a brilliant brand! Crock Pots/Slow Cookers prove invaluable to busy family & work lives! 👍

worked a dream
Well I got this a few days ago and instantly went out to buy a chicken. Now, being a keen cook I wanted to try and do a roast in a slow cooker, so whacked in the chicken with a bit of butter on top, spuds, parsnips, carrots and leaks (3 hours high and 3 hours low - I was in all day and a little pressed for time hence the variation on cooking). One thing is this will make you food very tender (meat and veg), but don't expect a roast in this too be like an oven roasted dinner. In fact, while slow cooking, the chicken drained A LOT of fat (which if you are in you could drain occasionally, but overseeing a slow cooker is not really the idea for them). The potato's and parsnips were more heavily steamed cooked than roasted, but again I expected this although if the fat was drained they may have burnt a little better, I think they absorbed a lot of water and fat.I think it'll take a little trial and error to get perfection regarding roasts with the slow cooker, but I have no doubt there are many meals (mainly stews/casseroles/other whack everything in dishes) that can be made that are healthy and can be left well alone while they cook.As per usual I'll give pro's and cons:Pros :Doesn't have a digital diplay! Pro you ask, why? Well I have had a number of appliances with digital displays over the years and must admit I found them superior to their dial/wind-up predecessors. This was until 2/3 years later where the LCD display would fade/break. Ever since I have avoided anything digital in terms of kitchen equipment.Good capacity, this will fit large roasting joints, do 10 portions of other meals.Bowl is ovenproof - not the lid however.Easy to clean and non-stick - as per other non-stick cleaning i generally tend to turn the appliance on too low before wiing it with a damp cloth, the heat breaks down any residue making it a doddle to clean.Keep warm function - good for reheating food without using the micro that would overcook it.Cons:No indicator light - there is no indicator light on whether the appliance is on or not.Gets VERY hot - and it can get very hot so Con1 means you could suffer from Con2 if you don't realise it's on - don't let kids or animals near it either! No timer - I find it strange that not many if any slow cookers have a timer. I have purchased a timer plug to compensate for this but think this would be a nice gimmick on slow cookers. I know they are designed to be left on for a long time but you never know when you are going to arrive home in the modern world! All in all I am sure I'll enjoy many a good meal from this.

Couldn’t be without it
Love my Crockpot this is my second one, prefer this one to my last as it is so much lighter. As you can see I am cooking a Chicken just falls of the bone. I love the size as you can cook all joints of meat leg of lamb, & Beef so much easier haven’t got to worry about it. I couldn’t be without one, soon as my one was no good had to buy another straight away it was a great price too. Even though it doesn’t come with any recipes you can Google for them, these days you can learn a lot by googling if that is a word. Lol! settings are easy slow, high and warm.

My Favourite Kitchen Appliance.
Full disclosure- I bought this as a replacement for the exact same model I was gifted 14 years ago.You will never make a better investment for your kitchen. Incredibly simple to use, very energy efficient and a great time saver for the "lazy" cook. While most recipes advise some browning or softening of ingredients before hand, I have never bothered. Just chuck everything in, turn it on to low and wander off for 8 hours. The occasional stir and tasting, if you like, and dinner is done. Also good for overnight, but if you are doing breakfast casseroles or overnight porridge you might want to use a liner, makes it easier to get things out.The dish cleans easily, and you can even pop it into the oven to brown the top of anything- great for stew and dumplings. My first one lasted 14 years, and I used it a lot. After a suitable period of grieving I popped on Amazon and was delighted to see the same model still available. My shiny new model is currently making a sausage casserole for dinner later, and my home smells lovely.
