this is a concise note of everything pertaining to ancient and modern history . one can go forward to buy this for quick revisions and developing an understanding of the syllabus without needing to prepare self notes. the mind maps which has been provided are good for quick revision for prelims of any service. by the way received genuine book . update: after having spent nearly 15 days with this book i feel it is just the prelude to spectrum as the journeybegins from protohistory till the britishers. however author should work more on checking the spelling errors. the dates are also misprinted in this book not just the names(in the post aurangzeb mughals and marathas). anybody buying this as their main reference book should simultaneously check the facts from google or read ncerts before reading this in order to avoid confusion . rest this is a good book fr revising.

One stop for all solutions... The utmost book for any civil service exam, if you're not taking history as optional. This new edition also has some improvements in it from the previous edition. Enough informations are given in this... Language is very much simple, so that anyone can understand very easily... And not so voluminous...Also in this new edition they have attached 2 charts, one for ancient and another for medieval... These two things are just too helpful to remember the kingdoms, time durations, names of the kings etc. If you go through the charts along with your study, you will never able to forget. Go for this book without thinking twice!!! I am taking this book for wbcs 2021...got this at Rs. 443... So I got a very much exciting and cheap deal.. packaging and delivery was 10 on 10.

Excellent informative book. Presentation quality is very attractive. Every important point depicted with colourful ink. It is too much handy. Those who wants to grab all topic within a short while,It will be better to go through it. But there was no extra map sheet (Ancient and Medieval)inside this book when I received this item but after through replacement process I got it with map sheets. Amazon customer care chatting help desk is very much careful and helpful to solve any kind of problem.

As a civil service aspirant, one of the things you needed is being decorated and arranged in a way that is easy to grasp. What caught my eyes about this book is that this book has that feature. Easy to understand with flowchart, picture and other stuff. Easy english yet you will be understand the trick question in these kinds of exam. And to assess what you learned from the chapter you can see there are q and a at the end of each chapter. But what made me fell in love with this particular book is that it has a pair of detachable chart of Ancient and Medieval history for quick revision that or you can hang it in your room so you can take a look and remember entire history at once. But for that you need to cover the subject itself from your old book and this one too. Well I love this book. I hope it helps with the purpose I bought. Best Book, Language used in this book is simple, Easy to understand due to pictures, mind maps and flow charts. In end of every chapter 6 to 15 MCQ is given for practice. Pages in this book is thick and and of good quality. Pictures is given in light pink and black colour. This book include 16 Chapters (Anciend + Medieval India). Chapter 1 :- Pre-Historic India to Chapter 16 :- The coming of Europeans.

Before this book, I also bought one more from Mc Graw Hills which is Indian Polity by M. Lakshmikant, the best book ever in India for Polity purpose. Now if I talk about Poonam Dalal Dahiya's Ancient & Medieval History, his book contains a lot of information which a civil servant needs to take preparation for the exams. Also, Thanks for the Chart of 2 era. But after all, the publisher needs to look in the binding quality of the book. Because they use the Gum to attach the sheets on the cover but after using of 1 week the last pages of these books comes out of the cover. Needs to improve the build quality of the side portion.

I never liked history but this book made me love history, infact I never thought I would grow to like history. I had a fun experience reading from this book especially with the tabular formats, interesting keywords, maps and so on, I got myself accustomed to Poonam Ma'am word building that I ended up purchasing modern history and medieval history as well because I didn't understand books from other authors. Also the revision charts were super helpful !! Thank you so much Ma'am for making me love HISTORY !
