Long Hex Nut 5pcs Plated Steel M10*40/50 Threaded Fasteners for Home, Office and Other Machinery Industry (M10*40)

These might be ok in some applications but I tend to use M10 bolts/stud where strength is needed, these are extremely lightweight and not suitable for my application. The thread itself is indeed M10x1.5mm but the a/f measurement is only 12.3mm so there’s very little material to add strength.For half the price I managed to pick up twice as many sturdy steel union nuts from Toolstation - comparison can be seen in photos. Product on left is this Amazon listing, product on right was less than £5 from Toolstation.

Unlike other reviewers, my items do have a 10 mm diameter thread with a 1.5 mm pitch, which is in accordance with the published standards. However, the external dimensions are a lot smaller. The standard M10 dimension across flats (AF) is 17 mm, ie the spanner size you would need. These items are 12.5 mm approx AF.For my use, I think that's ok but you could have problems if you want to use a standard M10 nut to lock this in place on a rod

These were listed as M10 thread, but supplied to me as M8 thread. The labelling on the packet was even M10, but the actual product was not
