I received the 15" chess/checkers set yesterday. Basically, the set looks good and the magnetic function works fine with both the chess pieces and the checkers pieces. There are no serious flaws in the board; it looks nice. However, today, I noticed that the felt is missing on a couple of the pawns and, more disappointing, one of the white queens is cracked. See the attached photo. Here is the point of this review. The international warranty that came with the set claims "Life-Time Free Components Offered". But when I phoned the Customer Service Contact phone number (California) provided with the set to request a replacement white queen, I received the message "The subscriber you have dialed is not in service." I double checked the number and phoned twice. I phoned a second customer service number (Minnesota) provided on a different enclosed card and received the message, "Your call cannot be completed as dialed." Hmmmm. What about that warranty?IMPORTANT UPDATE: Customer Service did respond to an email from me and promptly sent replacement pieces. I am impressed and changing my updating my review to 5 stars.

I bought this for my 10-year-old grandson to be one of his many birthday presents. He loves it and I love it too because it gives me an opportunity to play checkers with him. Because of the included chess pieces he has taken of chess and is attentively trying to learn the game in between all of his athletic endeavors. I welcomed the broadening of his endeavors. His check is game has improved remarkably and he seems to feel much of his spare time now playing. Of course I haven’t spent as much time as he has but on a good day I can win on a better day he wins and it gives me joy to see the happiness it brings them. I think all your grandpa’s can understand. It is a beautiful set and well worth the money!

This is a beautiful set. I love that the pieces are slightly magnetic so we can sit down anywhere and play without worrying that we will tip it. The pieces are very pretty and we will be using it for years to come.

I bought this checkers/chess set for my 8 year old who is learning to play chess. I originally purchased one from another well-known chess brand, but they sent me the wrong set, so I returned and decided to go with this magnetic version instead. My son loves it! The pieces are very nice and well made. I love that each piece has its own spot, and pieces won't inadvertently be knocked over while playing. My only thing I don't like as much about it, I wish it was sealed on top with a clear coat of some sort instead of just raw wood, but you definitely cannot beat this set for this price.

This is a reall ynice chess set! I wish the pieces were a little heavier and more magnetized.

This is an amazing chessboard for the price. The color of the wood looks elegant compared to others. The company really takes pride in their product. The quality of the set and even the packaging is very well crafted.I am very, very, happy with this purchase.

Compact design. I bought this set to teach my 6 year old how to play. Having magnetic pieces was a game changer. We no longer topple pieces accidentally and lose track of piece placement. The board folds for easy storage and prevents loss of pieces.
