I’ve had this reel for about seven months now. I have fished hard for more than 50 years in salt water. I’ve worked at one of the finest high end fly and tackle shops there is and sold spinning reels, always being critical of any flaws I’ve noticed. Believe me there are many in a lot of today’s reels. This reel, specifically the 2000 series, has yet to show me any flaws. For a no nonsense, solidly designed, well built, smooth and balanced reel, I definitely recommend this one. Color me very impressed, especially for the price.

Looking good , feels good only need to put in some fish I have gotten runcl brand before I usually buy my fluorocarbon line from them never had an issue c got a bait casting reel that got damaged and customer service send me a whole new bait caster for free that’s how much they care for quality.

**UPDATE**Increased to 4 stars from 2, since customer service went above and beyond to make this right.I contacted customer service and they were great. They were responsive and were quick to send a replacement, even though I was outside of the return for Amazon. They said they have upgraded the part that broke to metal but are waiting on the new model to be sent to them, however the replacement I received still has the plastic part that broke. We'll see how it holds up. Overall I really like the reel and customer service was wonderful with trying to make this right.**ORIGINAL REVIEW**I purchased this July 9th, 2023 and received it very quickly. It's now October 2nd, 2023. Not quite 3 months since I've purchased this reel. I've used it maybe 7 or 8 times since I've received it. I was so disappointed today when I went to use it and find that the plastic had broken in 2 places. It doesn't make it completely unusable, but it makes it aggravating to use at it folds in there and the handle gets caught on the bail latch or line. I have contacted RUNCL and am waiting to hear back. I'm hoping in the future they could maybe redesign this to make it sturdier.

Honestly very good real, using for mostly bass but it performs extremely well and is durable and came with nice bag to cover to keep scratches off .this on a ugly stx rod is great

I just got this in.I was a little disappointed in how it was packaged.Most reels come in a box with some kind of foam or cardboard insert to protect the reel, not just placed in the box.So I was a bit skeptical at first.Always been a big fan of Abu Garcia and Shimano.I needed to replace a reel that finally retired to fisherman heaven, and wanted a decent midrange reel for a 7" MH/M action rod.As I said, I wasn't real impressed with the packing, but after giving it a very thorough inspection, I have to say, this is a decent quality reel.It's good looking, has great style, and smooth operation.I always grease and oil new reels, just to be on the safe side, or as some would say, "it's better to err on the side of caution" than to take it out fort a test drive and have something go wrong.The reel seat is just a tad longer than most, so fingering the line during casting will be just a bit different, but it balances very well on the rod.I filled it with 30lb braid and a 15lb leader. It holds a lot of line.I'll update my review once I have the chance to get it out for a good days fishing.
