Affordably Priced Metal Calipers
This caliper is no $100 Mitutoyo, but for the price is exceptionally well made and seems to be accurate enough for the price.Pros:The entire things is made of metal, including the housing that houses the LCD.Seem accurate enough. Measurements of US coins are within both caliper and US Mint specifications. The caliper gives imperial measurements in fractions of an inch, not in decimals (although you can select decimals if you want). If you're going to be using imperial units, this is a must. I don't want to be converting .1875", I just want the calipers to read 3/16". These do that.Instructions are understandable, but were obviously translated. Not that you really need them.Comes with extra batteries and a screwdriver for the battery compartment. I think most calipers come with these, but hey, it's good.Cons:Like most calipers coming out of China today, there's no traceability, so I would not buy these if you have any need for traceability of measurements. No guarantees on accuracy. No indication as to the exact factory or manufacturer anywhere. No carrying case (c'mon! even the $5 Harbor Freight special comes with a case).Other info:Stated accuracy is +/- .02mm for measurements under 100mm, +/- .03mm for measurements between 100 and 200mm, and +/- .04mm for measurements greater than 200mm.

measures mm/inches
I must have misread the description so I will take the blame on that. All I needed was an exact mm measure for gemstones, I don't want inches or do a conversion. If you want just mm reading this is not for you. Once the gemstone was measured, I was to press the mm/inch reading and as I said I don't have any use for inch reading i can use a ruler. The mm reading on a stone that I knew was 10mm let's say gave me 9.98 or some number like that. I put in other gemstones and same thing, I thought this would instantly give me the correct measurement in mm only. My fault but this helps me non at all measuring gemstones. For all I know it could mean 9.5 mm which would be unusual. It should have said 10, so I will continue to use my little slider caliper that is accurate and old as the hills but I need accuracy. Why would anyone want to have to do a conversion.

You get what you pay for
These are not top-end calipers suitable for use in a machine ship. They are a good, low cost set for occasional usage around the home when precision and accuracy of 0.0005" is needed regularly. The edges are a little sharp but not too bad. The motion out of the box was stiff, but ut has loosened up enough to move freely now. I do not have a calibration block set, but they at least consistently return to zero when used. There is no case, but you can put them back in the box easily enough. Extra batteries are a nice touch.

Should have bought this first
This is my 3rd caliper. My first metal/digital... and I'm over the moon. It's got weight to it, definitely not flimsy, so you know it's not a toy. Takes the smaller watch batteries so it they should be easy to replace when the time comes AND it includes some spare batteries. I like the color too, nice contrast when I'm looking for it in the clutter that becomes my workspace. I'll lets my kids play and finish destroying my old plastic one. This bad boy is for daddy.I started with an imperial measurement caliper. It was metal, but I got tired of doing conversions after reading the dial. Then I bought a decent plastic one with digital readout. It's worked well, but I always struggled when I wanted to make a fine movement either forward or back. Over time the tips began to bend it and it was no longer accurate. This caliper solves ALL my problems. I've had it a week and love it already.

Great price, good quality and easy to use and read!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. We have been doing a lot of do-it-yourself projects at home and I found myself in need of these calipers. I am really impressed with these especially for the price! They are very good quality and I like the LCD screen that is very easy to read. They measure the inside diameter, outside diameter and there's also a depth measuring blade, a ruler and a thumb ruler. They are made out of stainless steel and come with extra batteries as well! The instructions are easy to read and using these is effortless. Most importantly they're very accurate!

Great for the garage
A caliper is a great tool to have in your garage if you work on cars. These are great for checking rotors to see if you need to replace the actual unit or if you have room to get them turned. If you are a bit older like me you know nice these digital calipers are. You get an instant readout and it's really precise which is great. Makes getting a reading nice and quick without having to fumble around looking at small lines. The tool itself is really nice quality and so far it's been working great. It's a great value for the price and a great tool to have when you need it.

Impressive! Accurate, Repeatable, Pleasure to Use
Feels way better than the very low price suggests. Impressive repeatability of measurements. I like the instant conversion between metric and US units--both decimal and fractional readout. There are many versions of these on Amazon, probably using identical components. I chose this because all the external parts are (apparently) rugged steel. There are all-plastic ones out there for a few dollars less, but this just feels well worth it.Yes, these are probably made in some foreign country, but if I insisted on US quality or to keep the money in the US (I actually do try to do that), I'd still be looking for the non-digital one my Dad gave me when I was a kid.

Hard to please me but this thing totally made me happy
I usually am very critical when it comes to items I buy. Rarely do I get so happy with a product I buy and this caliper was a joy. And I've got a collection of calipers including some Mitutoyos which I keep very carefully. I wanted something cheaper but not flimsy for use in the garage or "rough" use.I bought a few "cheap" ones before, with varying degrees of issues, too many to mention in this review. Now that I have this, I am tempted to keep it away from "rough" use and treat it as gently as the expensive ones. I hope they last, but as I have it, its made me very happy, so I give it all 5 stars. If it breaks or have any issues, I will come back and add an update to my review.
