The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal (Cat Who... Book 12)

Red is for Cardinal?
This is such a delightful series, I never get tired of if. I'm reading the entire series in order and it's wonderful to see how Braun expands her plot line and adds and takes away characters during the series. In this installment the unusual and eclectic principal of Pickax High is mysteriously murdered. Ko Ko seems enthralled with the color red, from a cardinal to a tapestry. The fun is in figuring out how this amazing cat's mind works and how his clues point to the murderer. Braun's world is great fun to visit and I recommend this series to all.

Finally and light entertaining mystery
This is a particularly entertaining entry into Lillian Jackson Braun’s “The Cat Who...” series. The human protagonist, semiretired newspaper journalist Jim Qwilleran, has moved into a magnificently renovated barn on his property which becomes the scene of the murder of the talented but unpopular high school principal and another unexpected death. Qwilleran gets to know the local horsey set while his engaging feline housemates and particularly the incomparable Koko help him investigate both deaths. Placing Qwilleran in a new setting and the introduction of several interesting new characters made this book an especially fun read. Very light but highly entertaining.

Really camp, but great camp
Okay, she's not a Dickens or Rowling, but she's created this ridiculous place with just lovely characters... there are twenty or thirty books in the series and they are chronological, and it's a sweet place to check out into for a mental vacation.

Ready to move into a barn and get a cat.
Qwill is moved into his renovated apple barn and already there's trouble. After the local thespian group dropped by to celebrate, the director is found shot to death in Qwill's yard, and it's the genius contractor responsible for the barn transformation who is the prime suspect. Jim doesn't believe it for a minute, and between tour groups and horse races, he's determined to get to the truth.I love these books. Can't believe I'm on #12 already. I started wanting a Siamese around book five, I think, so read warily if you're not inclined to pets.

Happy ending
I ordered this book, "The Cat Who Knew a Cardinal," well before Christmas and was notified that it shipped on 12-17-13. This was in the middle of the crazy Christmas rush and some bad weather for shipping, and the book never arrived. Needless to say I was unhappy about it. However, when I let Amazon know that my order never arrived, the vendor (The Book Grove) immediately began efforts to make me happy. When it turned out she was out of stock herself, she began to search for a copy of the book among her competitors and eventually found one. I received a copy of the book I was looking for at no further expense to myself, and I'm delighted with the customer service provided and extreme effort made to satisfy by Joan with The Book Grove. My mom specifically requested that particular book so it really is going to be fun to give it to her. Thanks again, Joan!

The cat who series.
Stories are interesting and the interactions of cats to their human (Mr Qwill) are entertaining and funny.Though not required, it helps if you read them in order. Each book does explain a short version of cats n their human, but it is nice to have the details.

Fun Read
I had read The Cat Who...series quite a few years ago. I am now in the process of purchasing [and rereading] them for my Paper White. I have found that all of the books in this series are a fun, quick read. They are light and enjoyable whether or not you are a cat lover.

Cardinals Are Beautiful Birds
Qwill and the Siamese move into the apple barn. It is spectacular! The cats and Qwill seem to be very cozy. Qwill gets ready for bed and looks out the window to see a caravan of carlights heading his way. It happens to be the cast of Henry VIII, dropping by for a barn warming party. The party lasts quite late. After they leave the cats get jumpy and look out the window to see a leftover car. After several minutes, Qwill decides to go investigate. He discovers the dead body of the high school principal. Qwill and Koko work to solve the crime.Qwill comments about Polly being jealous. Read this book to see if, in fact, Qwill is the jealous party. This was a very enjoyable book. You will enjoy it too.

The cat who
I love talking books and this is unabridged which is the only way to go. The voice is exactly right for Qwilleran and the portrayal of small town America is excellent. It's good to have a murder without gratuitous blood and gore but with all the enjoyment of the brainwork

Theses books are all great fun
I can't possibly write reviews for all Lilian Jackson Braun's Cat Who books. They are all similar. Unconventional millionaire solves mysteries with the aid of a feline genius. Great fun

Great way to enjoy The Cat Who series
I've been collecting this series for the last year, and this is the most economical and efficient way so far! The book is used but still in good condition, it was very reasonably priced and I received it within the promised delivery date! Would definitely recommend this seller.
