Goliath Power Pux 83104.012 Stack Pack for Boys 5+, Multi

Good if you buy at a discounted rate. Not worth the full mrp.
Pros:1. Fun to play with.2. They are light weight, handy to carry while travelling.3. Easy to spot when they land.4. Can be easily cleaned with soap water.5. You can pop them even without the launcher.Cons:1. Too expensive for such a simple game play.2. The after popping them a few times for three to four days, can already see the paint of the print/design chipping away. So soon enough the paint could completely go away leaving the discs looking cheap and unattractive.

NEW CRAZE❓
The media could not be loaded. Power Pux are another craze, or at least that is the intention of the makers I guess. My kids think they are excellent and have had great fun with them. This is because the game is simple. The discs can be flexed and placed on a flat surface, then the tension within them will then launch them into the air and players can have fun trying to catch them (although younger players will perhaps be a little disadvantaged against older players). My kids give them a 5-star rating.I, the put-upon parent, would have given them a 4-star rating because of a couple of things. The first is that the designs on the discs are lacking colours. If I compare them to Pogs, a craze that came out when I was a child that also involved discs, but cardboard discs (in the main) that were flat not convex, then Pogs were very desirable to me to collect. This is because the designs were very beautiful with cartoon images in lots of colours and some Pogs also had shiny silver foil bits to them too. They looked great. These on the other hand have two colours only for each disc, with some of the rares also having a third colour with black outlines to the designs. That simple addition of one extra colour makes them look a whole lot better. In future series I would prefer more colours to them, although there may be a reason for the limited colouring when you consider these discs are plastic and Pogs were cardboard. The next problem I have is that within a week of playing with Power Pux my kids have managed to scratch off some of the designs to some of the discs. So I don’t think the designs are that durable if you are playing with them regularly. This is a Stack Pack. Inside are 10 discs, and a stack tube with lid that can fit more than the 10 discs that come within it. For our 10 Power Pux we got one super rare, one rare and eight common (for series 1 there are 50 discs in all, of which 36 are common, 6 are rare, 6 are super rare and 2 are ultra rare). My kids give them 5-stars. In the attached video (also on YouTube in better quality) they say the Power Pux are "phenomenal" and "awesome". They say "they have really fun graffiti designs on them". They also said it would be good to customise your own discs but overall they said that the Power Pux "are really, really cool, especially the artistic designs on them".

A miss for me but then again, I’m not a kid!
Another kid’s craze? Perhaps, but not around here. I’ve asked a few youngsters and only one of them had even heard of them. Perhaps we’re a bit slower here in Wales. The concept is very simple and it’s loosely based on the old tiddly winks game. The difference is that these pux jump under their own steam. You use the lid of the container to force the pux to go inside out. It will then randomly jump into the air. This comes with 10 random design pux of which at least one is guaranteed to be rare. There are 50 designs to collect altogether. I’m afraid the designs are a bit boring. Will collecting them take off, I’m not sure. They’re not too expensive, so if you think your kid would be interested, then I’m he or she will be pleased.Overall, a bit of a miss for me but then again, I’m not a kid!

Quite boring.
I’m no kid so for me I find this quite boring. I have the full set, the launcher and some other containers. The pux designs aren’t very attractive but it’s nice to get a rare or ultimate rare, even thought the designs on them aren’t so good either. When I first received them it took me a bit to figure out how to launch them because I was afraid I might break them but in the end I thought when the hell and shoved the pux into the launcher and pressed down hard. It flicks the pux out of the launcher onto the table then 2 seconds later it flicks into the air just like a flea. I guess the object of the game is to catch the pux and what you catch perhaps you keep or lose depending whether you caught it or not. There’s numbers on them too suggesting to me that you can tally them up for a scoring system. I asked around about these pux to see how popular they are and nobody had ever heard of them. I offered them to my cousin’s kids to keep and play with as they’re brothers I thought they might want to compete with each other but they weren’t interested and my cousin’s wife was dead against them not wanting to start them on a potential trend. Maybe this will catch on but I doubt it.

I'm not all that convinced!
We have a launcher, so this set is a great addition to the Pux we already have and it is a handy pot to keep them all together. We had lost a few before we received the stack pack. The designs on the pux are fun and my kids love collecting the different ones. However, i just think it is lacking in playability. The launcher is pretty feeble and while my two kids love popping the pux and catching them, they don't work 100% of the time and can be quite fiddly to push down to pop. When they work they can be entertaining, but not for long. Great for a little stocking filler, but not the best.

Once you Pux
School fads have been eternal. I can remember yoyos, conkers, but the likes of Pogs were after my time. 'Power Pux' is the next in line to try and achieve the holy grail of being a playground fad. It is a cross between tiddlywinks and Pogs. It also reminded me of those little plastic pops you used to get. Press them down and a few seconds later they would bound into the air. These are discs that you pop and then they will bound up.They are a little anarchic, but great fun. I am not sure they are great for sustained play, but they are good for a bit of mad entertainment. This pack is an add on pack that has ten discs. They are all patterned differently and you can collect the lot. I am not a huge fan of the slight collection madness that something like this can instill, but you can just play with the ten given. These feel very fad like, but that is the point. If you can grab a starter pack as well then these are fun discs to play with, you can just play heads or tails or shoot them into a pot like tiddlywinks.
