Well built.
Had it for a few years now. It gets a lot of use and is holding up fine.

Rustic and solid monitor stand
It is doing the job I needed it for. It is a good height and looks nice on my desk. For this, I would give 5 stars. However1) it is unfinished and slightly rough. I like the natural wood color and look, but will need a clear coat. Surprised it is being sold this way.2) drawers are very shallow. Not sure what I can even keep in there3) not adjustable; for the money, I would have thought it could be adjusted. I am okay with it where it is though and it works for me. Measure carefully!

Pleasantly surprised
Simply put, I was pleasantly surprised. The construction is sturdy. Drawers fit nicely. The wood looks quite like white oak or American ash. I suspect it is a Asian variety. Much nicer than bamboo or Paulownia wood (Asian balsa wood). It is smoothly finished and is somewhere between a light oil and unfinished. I will be adding a light oil based finish to match ash cabinets in the home.EDIT: In response to a question about finish and staining, mine came finished but was quite light. I used an oil-based stain to darken it a little. The prior thin finish acts as sort of a "pre-stain," so getting an even color was easy. Then added a final coat of Tung oil diluted 1:1 with VM&P Naphtha. It now matches the rest of the cabinets in the house. (Picture attached)

Coffee station
We use this stand as a coffee station. It perfectly fits our Chemex, kettle and grinder on top, convenience drawers for filters and things, and a gap underneath where we set the stirring spoon on a plate.

You decide
It looks exactly as described but priced to high. The draws fit pens, paperclip, and tabs....not much else

Stain it...make it your own!
This particular product arrived damaged, a corner chipped. But I have several Kirigen pieces and I really like them. They are always packaged well, with bumpers on all corners, but I could tell this had been dropped from a distance. Fortunately, it was a back corner of the stand, and the broken piece was whole. I'm tired of returning things and decided to just fix it. I used wood glue and a wood clamp and it's fine. Of all the Kirigen products I have, this is the lightest, like thick balsa wood. It would be a nice project if you wanted to stain it, make it your own.
