My inserts for the bottoms of the compartments are too large. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. My inserts are slightly too large. They bend when pushed into position.

Will this fit in the back of a golf cart that has a rear facing seat?

best thing about this organizer is that it can fit on the back seat of the golf cart or on the foot board. It can be sized down to just one or two compartments which makes it a nice item to buy

Can I buy more partitions?

It fixed at three, but like that you can just have one if you like
