These were a replacement for a gas desk fireplace. The fireplace is a few years old and these glass replacement filler was exactly what we were looking for. I use 2 - ten pound containers. Not sure one would have been enough. Good value and looks great.

Exactly what we wanted! So inviting and beautiful! We wanted a fireplace update so we removed our old gas logs, grate, pan, and lava rocks and replaced it with fire glass and these modern fire balls.What I learned in this process, the fire balls are much more lightweight than I expected-so they will roll unless placed strategically, kind of make a “divot” in the glass for it to sit securely. So we placed the fire glass down first (30 lbs is what we used and pictured) then arranged the fire balls on top and within the glass as we wanted so they wouldn’t roll. We turned the flame on and adjusted the fire balls and glass as need so that it directed the flames evenly. I used metal tongs to adjust the fire balls and glass as needed through the process. We were also pleased that the fire glass and fire balls conduct more heat than the gas logs so it heats up our room faster and we don’t need to use as high of a flame. The fire balls do turn black quickly but I expected that and it doesn’t bother us. Looks natural and pretty. The fire glass glitters as it’s a white/clear diamond reflective color and goes perfect with our marble surround.I’m debating on whether to paint the remaining back wall of the firebox black. For now, we are enjoying the update!

Funcional

The stones work really well to make the look of the fire pit very nice. Note that you might need to purchase two or more of them because in my relatively small (~2ft x 2ft) pit, I could not have only the rocks cover the circular gas ring so I had to leave lava rocks underneath them and put these on top. (or I would have needed two)
