It works
I bought this only because I wanted a remote control with a backlight to operate my Panasonic UB820 4K player. It works fine just like the original remote, but with a backlight. All the buttons control what they're supposed to. A great deal for $10.The button layout is even better than the original. With the original besides having no blacklight, it was also too easy to accidentally press the "Netflix" button unintentionally while operating the arrow keys.My only disappointment is that just like the original remote, this remote also will not operate my TV power/volume, despite following the re-programming instructions. Must be an issue with my specific TV (a 2016 Vizio).

Great replacement or upgrade remote, but a few buttons are different from the 9000 - HDR
This remote is very similar to the Panasonic 9000 remote and works well as a replacement or upgrade for lower models. It has a backlight, but is red versus white. The finish and weight is similar, but there are a few button function differences, the buttons have a soft feel vs the click the Panasonic has, and the emitter has an exposed LED vs the cover on the OEM. See photos for differences, it lacks the HDR select and mirroring buttons, and instead has Maracast and DLNA buttons. This remote has worked well for me as I never change the HDR setting once I setup the player for my TV.

Works with the Panasonic Blu-Ray players right out of the box
Works with the Panasonic Blu-Ray players right out of the box. Recommended.

Works but has faults that make it a pain
This remote does indeed control my Panasonic DP-UB820-K DVD player, but there are some problems.First of all, there are no instructions included, so there's no way to learn how to pair the remote with a TV like the Panasonic remote can do, and there's no way to learn anything at all about what other functions might be useable with this device. The one big advantage over the Panasonic remote is the backlighting. There is backlighting, oh my how there is backlighting. It is so bright. The buttons themselves are backlit but many of the button legends printed on the remote are not, so you have to deal with weird abbreviations made up by this remote manufacturer. The thing itself is HUGE compared to most remotes these days - the Panasonic remote is over 2 inches shorter without sacificing any button functions. It doesn't even fit in my remote caddy where all the other remotes live and socialize, so it is an outcast. It is harder to hold than the Panasonic remote. The top is glossy shiny and reflects light from the TV and overhead lighting - remotes shouldn't do this, they should be matte or something non-shiny.Useless buttons include those dedicated to a particular streaming service which I may or may not use, but in any case I never use the dedicated buttons to access them because they're in a different place on every remote. They are also ugly, very ugly. These buttons are purely profit driven, so the manufacturer can make a few bucks off Netflix, but they don't really serve consumers well at all and remotes should not have them.I don't want my DVD remote control to control the whole entire world - I already have devices for that. I just want it to do a good job with my DVD player. That's all. I already know how to get to Netflix, thank you very much, I don't need (or want) my DVD player to lead the way. After using this for a while, I find myself reaching for the OEM Panasonic remote more than I do this one, which tells me that the backlighting might not make up for the other problems. Right now it's a backup more than anything.

So much better than the remote that came with the player.
The original remote for my DP-UB820 is awful at best. I lost count of the time I pressed the wrong button. This remote is more user friendly. Buttons are placed well, and it worked right from the start. No programming needed. And it has lighted buttons. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Low Quality
Even for a knock-off, this remote performs poorly. The backlight worked exactly one time before it failed, and the buttons nearly always snag and remain depressed when you press them. On the positive side, it worked right-out-the-box with my DP-UB820. I did not need to program anything, so I'll elevate my rating to two stars.

Worked great for my 4K player
I did not like the remote on my 4K player. This was priced from $10 to $70. The ten dollar works great.

Nearly perfect
I was looking for a remote for my UB820 that had backlight, and I stumbled upon this budget alternative. The remote works flawlessly with the UB820 and the backlight is almost too bright, which makes it easy to see the buttons in a dark room. The build quality is decent for a non-OEM product though the buttons can stick a little. The only real issue I have with the remote is that I cannot get it to pair with my TV in order to control the volume. I’ve tried to program the remote on multiple TVs and haven’t been able to get any to work. If this worked it would be a perfect replacement.
