Very High Fidelity from inexpensive computer speakers !! Great Value...
Another great gadget purchase from Amazon !! I was looking for a good set of computer speakers to hook up in a guest room to my plasma TV and use with a DVD player for music.I was just about to buy a comparable priced Logitech speaker system. Good reviews. But through the online reviews here I found out about this little known brand from Canada.People that had it loved it. I also own the BOSE Companion 3 system I bought several years ago ($350).There is no question the BOSE system is higher fidelity but when I hooked this system up to and started listening to a CD on the DVD player I was blown away !! These do not sound like computer speakers. One feature the Logitech system I researched lacked is that there is no level control for the Bass response on the subwoofer. I own 1000s of dollars of hi fi and Dolby 5.1 equipment in my household. This system will fill the bedroom I installed it in at high levels and more...it is very similar to the config on the BOSE system with the pod controller for volume, headphone output and Aux input. The blue light the pod puts out is a little bright but I like it as it is a great nightlight in the bedroom. Very soothing illumination.I go into this bedroom and watch TV when my wife is watching The Voice or Dancing with the Stars...;-(For $58 here on Amazon it is an unbelievably great value and the modern design of the satellite speakers is very unique. Buy this system as soon as possible !!

Stopped working after 2 miniutes of low volume use.
Not much to review. Connected speaker system up, turned it on and was impressed with the sound quality. After two minutes of low volume use, the right channel crackled and went dead. Verified sub woofer not outputting on right side. Now sound quality is poor. Will be asking for a replacement and will change review based on replacement unit.Updated Review:The company quickly responded and took care of my faulty equipment with no hassle. Now I will re-review the item.Pros:-Sleek design - speakers do not look like speakers-Nice deep sound from base despite being smaller than some others-Separate volume knob is handy-Good clear sound for the price point-easy plug in set up-Prompt no hassle service with replacementCons:- I feel you might get a more robust sound from the speakers in a more traditional design with larger diaphragms. These are tiny. - 1/2 star- First unit shipped was faulty. Possible quality control problems. only time will tell how long it lasts. - 1/2 starOver all i feel it is a good sounding speaker system for the price point with deep base and would purchase again.4 stars

I just HAD to write a review!
**UPDATE IN NOV. 2022: They're still alive, and they're still killing it! So to all those saying theirs didn't last a year, I'm pretty confused. That is not my case. I have yet to have a single problem with this speaker set.I was stunned when I turned this guy on and cranked up the volume. I bought an Insignia Soundbar, a SOUNDBAR, that was twice the price of this speaker system and it was horrible. I have never heard of Edifier, much like other reviewers, but I must tell you that this system is a fantastic value and sounds loud, deep, and very clear. The build quality is solid, wires are plenty long enough, and ...while I would like the ability to dim or shut off the glow around the volume knob, the idea of the volume knob is a nice touch. It also increases/decreases the volume at a nice smooth rate, rather than by a 2% jump like some other speakers.Seriously, I don't really write many reviews on items I buy on Amazon, but when I heard these speakers, from an unheard of brand, I was blown away and knew I HAD to post something here. I have punished these things and cranked the the volume on so many songs for hours on end and they take it like it's nothing. If you are still debating whether or not this product is trustworthy, stop. It is worth every cent.To the people who say that "my OEM speaker system is better"...... do you even have the thing plugged in?I hear no clipping, no distortion, sound is crisp, deep, rich, and clear, the price is great, build quality is solid and stylish.... my only question to you if you're still reading this is, what are you waiting for? Hit that purchase button! You won't be disappointed!

Good set, sub doesn't rattle, kind of goofy shape, for the price.
Edifier isn't an old company, but they have become pretty good since they bought STAX. This set is no exception.Let's not pretend it's some great high end set, it's not. But it's a good middle quality set for a low end price. The sub is nice and heavy and well constructed so it doesn't rattle (a problem with similarly middle quality Creative and Altec-Lansing sets I've had). The volume control is nice and weighty so it doesn't get pulled back by the weight of the cables, and has a nice resistance to it so it feels like the volume knob on a good receiver. There's also both a line-in and microphone jack on the volume control. The satellites are a little goofy shaped, but at least they don't have annoying RGB junk.So how does it sound? It's not the best I've heard, but it's solid for the price. At high volume it doesn't get all distorted, but also it's not the richest sounding speakers I've had. Not tinny, though, in the middle. I'm putting 4 stars there for it, and I think that's accurate. I do not consider myself an audiophile, but I do like my stereo equipment and I know what sounds good to me.Value for money is the name of the game. This is a cheap set that sounds like a mid range. Remember Radio Shack/Tandy's Realistic brand back in the day? How you'd pay for low end and get mid range from it? That's how I'd describe this set.
