This is a perfect Easter basket book for little ones. It's a solid board book for tiny fingers, and the plastic "eggs" are beautiful and jewel-like and smooth to the touch. One by one they disappear like magic with each turn of the page. I will order more to have on hand when grandchildren arrive!

This is a charming counting book with a clever use of page turns as the eggs "hatch" and the chicks are revealed. I especially liked the detail given to the art on the pages facing the main action--there's always something fun to look at--and in addition to counting to ten, children can also practice simple addition as the number of eggs plus chicks always equals 10. The rhyming text stands up to repeated readings. A winner!

I like that the eggs are 3D and the kids love touching them. I wish the chicks were more fuzzy or fluffy.
