NispiraCharcoal Water Filter Replacements for Drinkwell 360 Pet Dog Cat Water Fountain, 12 Packs

DO NOT BUY THESE FILTERS! They are definitely not the filters that originally came with my 360° stainless steel cat fountain or even close to the quality that the other ones are. In all of the time that I have had the fountain, which is about nine months to a year, I have had no problems with filtration. Even when I used the fountain without the filters for the last 6 months, I never had any trouble with the water getting murky or dirty. After using one of these filters for two weeks, the fountain developed this disgusting, thick slime that I have never seen before. It turns the water a milky color, and while I originally thought it was the foam filter that goes around the motor that caused the water color, I found out when I pulled it apart, that it was really the filter that was causing this issue (see photo). Literally everything was covered in slime and my cat refused to drink it. DO NOT BUY THESE FILTERS. If you’ve run out of the PetSafe filters, do not buy these - the fountain runs better without a filter at all than with these.

They don't seem to work very well. I don't think the brand name ones are much better. (Well, the name brand ones do seem to perform a bit better than these but to be honest with either one I am not impressed.) These generics seem to have hardly anything in them. When I shake the filters I can feel & hear the charcoal moving around and it is a very scant amount. I thoroughly clean the unit but the entire thing gets filthy & slimy after a few days. Maybe it is the design of the filter machine that is partly to blame but I feel like these filters aren't very good either. I have to change them over every few days not every week 1/2 or two like it is supposed to be. I use these and the pre-filters around the pump and I never see anything getting trapped. There are particles in the water just sitting & getting gross & slimy. ugh. I wish they would sell a refillable filter so I can add a lot of charcoal. And I wouldn't have to feel guilty about going through these so quick. How many of these end up in the landfill after a year of use? :(So in summary I think these are a waste of $ and that going through these cheap filters so fast is horrible for the environment. The kitties would probably be better off with us not using a filter and just replacing the unit with fresh water (that I ran through my Brita pitcher) every day or two. I think that will provide fresher, cleaner water than these filters do.

So I have a herd of animals. Currently, 4 cats and 2 dogs. I previously had 3 dogs and 3 cats. These filters, along with my petsafe drinkwell fountain, work well. I change the filter every 3 weeks. Always rinse a new filter with cold water before replacing. Easy and effective.

ordered these before then ended up reordering them again. Needless to say not the same product as previous order. These are cheaply made and after using them one week noticed the charcoal would come out never happened with the other ones. Noticed that they were lighter in weight quality sucks.

I replace the filter in my cats water fountain every two weeks and these are great. The price is right and I get 6 months worth at a time. Perfect.
