OLFA Rotary Cutter RTY-2/G

This is my second rotary cutter in about 3 months. I was not sold on rotary cutters from the first one - the design of my first meant the round blade started getting stuck in place and I had to use a ton of force to cut anything even from the get go. I was a little worried about not having quite as much protection for the blade, as this blade cover doesn't manually retract to protect the blade (or more accurately, my skin from the blade) but it has been excellent so far. I've been surprised at how long the blades have lasted compared to my last rotary cutter. And, the mechanism to keep the blade on hasn't worked its way off as the previous one did. Love this product!

Love this thing - it's my favorite new toy in my sewing/craft room! Perfect size, sharp blade and comes in handy for many items that need to be cut including cardboard, fabric, tape, etc. Love it!

Olfa makes the best rotary cutter, what more can I say? I've tried others and they come unscrewed or the blades don't fit quite right. no problem with this brand. fast shipping.

This rotary cutter is the best versatile design and my go to for rotary cutting fabric. The standard size 45mm blade is very sharp and cuts through many layers. It is easy and safe to use with the blade lock functioning easily, by just a push or pull with the thumb while your hand is still in place on the handle. The handle seems the perfect size, long enough for larger hands, is comfortable and feels secure to hold. It can be used right or left handed. It is great for cutting on either side of the cutter, against an acrylic rotary cutting ruler, as the neither side interferes with the ruler and there is enough clearance when cutting, unlike other comfort handle types of rotary cutters which can't perform with this versatility.

I don't know maybe I have gotten a dud or something but I was very excited to have this since I have been using the ones from the Dollar Tree and they only last maybe a week at the most. But this was something I thought would be great. We'll it worked fine the first couple of mins I was using it. But then I noticed that I was struggling to cut something as simple a ribbon and deco mesh. It wouldn't cut all the way through or half way through. I know I am using it correctly. And I am only using one piece of ribbon at a time. Even though it claims it can go through 8 layers of material. But it is not giving me much hope if it can't even cut through one single layer of ribbon from the Dollar Tree. Like I said maybe I got a dud or something because this is not working the way that it should or how it even claims to work. I mean it wasn't that expensive but I figured it would work better then one from DT. I'm gonna keep using it maybe it is a fluke but if it doesn't work right I'm gonna have to return it for something that I know will cut at least ribbon.

Cuts smoothly and easy to grasp.

I was struggling with my old fiskar rotary cutters. I even made my husband get new blades and it still sucked. I was worried the olfa wouldnt be able to cut through many layers. I just had twins and I need new clothes. I didn't want to have to cut the same pattern out multiple times on different fabric. So I stacked it, making it 14 layers of double brushed polyester and two layers of jersey. This thing cut through the fabric like butter 💗. No joke it took me a full two days to cut out one dress of very thin fabric and thin sweater knit to make one outfit with the fiskars and it just took me less than 5 minutes to cut through 16 layers of fabric. All I have to do now is sew it up. BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS AMAZING!

I've used Olfa knives for 15 years now and I don't plan on changing that. I needed a cutting wheel for craft stuff and bought a cricut one, it was ok but not as durable as I'd like. Cricut makes decent stuff and the wheel was on sale. But then I saw that Olfa made one too. I had to buy it and I love it. Not doesn't feel like the handle is going to snap when I put pressure on it to cut. I plan on buying a few more and will most likely stick with Olfa when it comes to cutting wheels too.

He usado este cortador principalmente con tela y es maravilloso, también he cortado papel y láminas delgadas de plástico con éxito. A veces el control es difícil, a diferencia de un cutter, pero con una guía como una regla o escuadra es bastante preciso.

Es una maravilla, de cúter!!!
