Playtex Baby Nurser Bottle Gift Set, with Pre-Sterilized Disposable Drop-Ins Liners, Closer to Breastfeeding

As a first time mom, I tried these bottles after reading the reviews and I dont regret it at all. My baby is now 9 weeks old and we have been using this set from the first week. I love this starter set and it works great with the Medela Freestyle and the Lansinoh manual pump that I have. I wish it would include a second adapter ring for the pump as I believe most people have a double pump. I guess Playtex wants you to buy the extra storage kit so you then have an odd number of adapters. I have just been using it with one adapter on one side of the pump, and medelas own bottle on the other side. The bottles themselves are comfortable to hold. The dropin system is great for quick cleanups as I usually just rinse out the nipples and I dont have to worry about cleaning out the bottles. The nipples are silicone and dishwasher safe so I was happy there are 4 included in this set so I can switch them out. My baby has not had any nipple confusion so far.Just a word of caution for the plastic bottles themselves. Don't boil or sterilize them with a steamer. The printed letters will come off making the bottle worthless if you want to know how much milk to pour in. The drop in liners have markings on them, but its difficult to read while pouring. I had received one bottle where the letters came off and the customer service rep told me that it happens when you boil or steam them with a sterilizer. I dont own a sterilizer since this system elminates the need for one, so that one bottle was just defective.The only other quirk about the drop in liners is that because they are made to collapse as the baby drinks, if the baby doesn't finish the bottle right away, you can't tell how much milk is left without opening the bottle to let the air back in, which I think defeats the purpose of the system to reduce the amount of air the baby takes in. Just a minor inconvenience.I also received as a gift the new Avent natural bottle which I thought was terrible compared to the Playtex ones because the nipple flow was too fast even though it was supposed to be slow, and there was always a bit of milk left in the bottle because it catches at the top of the bottle where the bottle meets the nipple ring. There are no such problems with the Playtex nipples, which are truely slow flow, and the drop in liners empties without wasting precious breastmilk.Overall, I think these bottles are wonderful and I highly recommend them.

My baby never has a problem letting out gas if he has it. Never sucks in to much air , the bottles have been wonderful easy to clean and use with the liners. You could even gently wash the liners and re-use a couple times to save money and it’s still easier to use and safer for the babies tummies !

Really like this set, I'm a 1st time mom and they were recommended by my doula and they have been great. (This is also based on the fact my little one didn't have any latching problems or nipple confusion so I can't speak for others who may have special situations/needs. But she never has issues w/ taking in air when feeding b/c the inserts collapse as the baby feeds and drains the bottle.) Really easy parts to clean, just 4: the bottle the neck ring, the cap and the nipple. I steam the nipples w/ my pumping parts in a steam bag. The set comes w/ 2 different flow nipples and some starter inserts. **FYI if it's difficult to unscrew the neck to detach the nipple it's just b/c it's new. I called Playtex and they said to run it under hot water for a few minutes and it'll loosen up, and every subsequent use it gets easier. By the 3-4th time it's not an issue anymore. Now that my little one is on to more ounces per feed I picked up one extra 8-10oz bottle. Hope this helps!

The main reason i love it is because this is the only bottle that literally eliminates air. My son was always so gassy and uncomfortable and in pain, we started with Dr. Browns bottles, absolute worst for my LO, then we switched to MAM, while i liked these because of the grip on the nipple, it hadn't fixed the air problem. I then found the playtex nurser and instantly saw a difference in my sons behavior, he was no longer in pain or whimpered when he had to burp/fart/poop. He cried a lot less, overall became a very happy active baby. I want to say this took away his colic. The nipple is advertised as being close to natural breastfeeding which was perfect because i breastfeed as well. Another thing is the liners are disposable and affordable! I went from cleaning and sanitizing 6 pieces on the dr browns and MAM bottle , per bottle to literally half and sometimes less. Because milk is only ever in the nipple it is up to your discretion to clean the actual bottle everyday , i clean and sanitize the nipples, cap, and ring daily, and the actual bottle every other day . Saves me lots of time away from the sink especially since i also have pumping products to clean. This also lakes it convenient for travel because its less parts and has disposable liners. I wish i would have realized this was the answer to my babies problems 6 weeks sooner!!

THE BEST GIFT! The bottles are amazing because you don’t need to clean them. It comes with drop in liners that you can throw away after each feeding, leaving you to only need to clean the nipple. Having a newborn means being busy 24/7 so only having to wash a nipple helps so much in preparation for the next feeding. FYI: the bottles come with medium size nipples! I didn’t realize until after 2 feedings to my baby, but I noticed he was drinking funny so I took a look & noticed the middle nipples are for 3-6 month old babies! I have ordered slow leak planted nipples to change them out for him to eat more comfortably. You may have to do the same if you would like to use this for a baby under 3 months or who eats slowly.
