Nice, work well, cheap!
I use this with my sony cam on my helmet and my only gripe is after recording and I play it back sound only plays out of one side of the speakers or headphones!!Update: I messed up and didn't have it connected correctly I believe OR there was a short in that particular one. I just bought another and the sound is perfect. 5 stars

Great Traditional Microphone - - - Awesome Quality! Read for Details!
Note: I did not use it to record A/V, but rather with an intercom system I built. This microphone contains a permanently charged material (called an electret microphone), so it does not require any external power source, such as a plug or battery connected to it. I wired this up to a pair of headphones and a 3.5mm audio jack in order to create a microphone headset. I installed this into my helmets for when I go on motorcycle rides with others. NOTE: IT IS NOT OMNI-DIRECTIONAL. (Either a plus or negative depending on your usage). The sound quality at 60+ mph speeds, with wind, was great and clear; I could hear the speaker without any hesitation in understanding. It was just like a phone call inside the house. However, it is susceptible to vibrations more than it is with wind. Jolts will typically register some noise, but it's not a problem for conversational uses. For recording usage, say for films or video projects, 3rd party audio editing software may be needed to censor and dim these unwanted noises IF they register (you'd have to abnormally bump the microphone hard if you're simply standing in one spot, vs. going 60-70mph over a bumpy highway on a little bike with little suspension).Sound quality: 9.5 / 10 - - - - (Excellent sound quality, but took off a half star because it's obviously no audiophile microphone.Build quality is not really important, as the wires (about 34-42 AWG) are inside a molded rubber encasing at the plug end and crimped at the mic end; moreover, the soldering quality was good quality and on-point. This means that the wires, though small, aren't susceptible to being pulled out or torn very easily. Also, since there is no battery source required, and the cord is plenty long enough, you don't need to worry about future purchases (such as a new battery or cord extension), meaning you can buy, use, focus on other things, and not worry. However, though the foam serves its purpose in wind reduction (yes, it does), I found it didn't reduce noise as much (probably lowered it 75-78% as much as another microphone I own:Insten VOIP / SKYPE Mini Flexible Microphone - Black) but it was still adequate, especially for lower-demanding environments (ie. not on a fast motorcycle).Build Quality/longevity: 9 / 10 - - - - (Good enough, won't fall apart even with "unintentional heavy use" and will serve you well---the foam took off one point)The cord is 1 meter long, and for you motovloggers and adventurists out there: you can't go wrong with this mic. EVEN if you do not own the DRIFT HD GHOST-S DIGITAL VIDEO ACTION CAMERA CAMCORDER or Drift Innovation HD Ghost Wi-Fi Waterproof Digital Video Action Camera Camcorder you may use with a computer, other video camera, or even phone (though, the latter may be more subjective to phone type).Overall, a good, versatile microphone with many uses and great quality. other microphones may cost a little less, but do not offer the flexibility that this microphone does. You can clip it on a shirt, collar, pole, or, like I did, even a stiff metal wire along the cord itself to make an adjustable boom mic!Good buy, I would definitely recommend! With Grace and Peace,-Sam

Recommended Factory Mic for Drift HD Ghost/Ghost-S!!!
Use with Drift HD Ghost-S on Icon Alliance w/ chin curtain. I mainly use this for Motovlogging anywhere between the speed of 0 to speed limit to account for wind noise, the cable length is more than adequate for placement and routing within your helmet. I set my Ghost-S on the right side of my helmet and it works perfect for ME. Placement for top or left side of helmet works also, with the cable length it is more than possible for cam positioning other than the right side of your helmet. Setting you Ghost-S on level 1 mic sensitivity you will get awesome audio. A negative I have for the Drift HD Ghost/Ghost-S External Microphone is that the mic sleeve does not stay on easily. An easy fix I used for it, I use some electrical tape like a 2-sided tape to keep the sleeve secure. You can also use some crazy glue to keep it on but I chose to "ghetto rig" some electrical tape in the event that or if I need to replace the sleeve easier. Overall, I recommend this mic for the the Drift HD Ghost-S because I have not had any issue with it yet and it is the manufactured mic specifically for the Drift HD Ghost/Ghost-S.

Awesome
Shipping speed: Great way to fast I would say.Length: enough to rap around a helmetSound quality: it must be said no mic can fully block out the sound of wind but I might say this one does a pretty god job and catches your voice crystal clear. The only problem I had was with the little foam ball that sit on top of the microphone. It able to be removed for cleaning but it falls to easily. I forgot my visor up for a street and the muffler flew off on the first day I had it. That would be my fault. So I would not recommend driving with the visor up.

Relatively good sound but poor quality
The media could not be loaded. I was about to put 5 stars but while shooting video mic clip broke down. It gives you relatively good sound but reliability is poor.

Drift Ghost microphone
I installed this microphone inside my helmet to produce some live motovlogs. Once its plug onto the Drift Ghost, I routed the cable inside the helmet shell, removed the wind foam from the microphone and set up the microphone on the side cheek foam. The wind noise is kept to a minimum and my voice can be heard very clearly.Updated from 5 to 1 star. After 3 month, the microphone stoped working, so I bought another one from your friendly Radio Shack, and everything is back as it should have been.Watch this motovlog to appreciate the sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqIcS33Hslw

Works but rather cheap clip
A very light duty item and the clip might detach itself and get lost easily. The mic works good enough if you don't overload it.If you use it strictly for voice it's fine. The price is way way more than it's worth.

Great Mic!
I've been using this mic for a few months now to moto-vlog on a Bell Qualifier helmet. Does it handle wind well? eh, ok... but best to block winds from getting to any mic.Audio is quite clear and this works with the gopro adapter for a Hero 3+ silver which is what I run.You can search Sonic Moto on YouTube to hear audio samples of this product in use.

This microphone is worth every penny, I had cheaper versions which didn’t meet my expectations, this one ticks all the boxes.
