Anyone, anywhere can make german steel with the right metallic components......just like you can make a streusel in America but it's origins are German. The Tuo Nakri knife is styled after a Japanese knife made of a specific type of metal with origins from Germany. The knife is produced in China. China has a long history in making quality knives with a number of steel types including Aus10, VG10, and 1.4116. Tuo does a good job with their knife production. BTW, American companies also make a Nakari style knife with 1.4116 German steel.
