A Real Treasurer for Coffee Lovers
This Cuisinart grind and brew is the best for making coffee with just ground beans or already ground. I prefer the stainless-steel carafe. I have been utilizing this model--(don't like the fancy new grinder)--with this simple grinder for over 15 years. Can't beat it and I am a long-time coffee lover and drinker. The machine is easy to use and maintain. Reasonably priced and last a good while. You can set it up and forget it until the timed brew kicks in. Wonderful to wake up in the morning with the smell of freshly brew coffee.

Works as advertised
Pros:The unit is reliable and works as advertisedReasonable priceNice insulated carafe (Reviews I read prefer insulated carafe over lower model with glass carafe)Cons:Have to clean and refill the unit every dayNoisy during bean grindMy wife wanted to wakeup to fresh ground coffee every morning, with the smell wafting through the house as she lay in bed. But within a week she stopped loading it the night before and just runs it manually in the morning. I knew that would happen, but I still got the full husband points for the gift so that's what matters! For ongoing husband points you can clean/load the unit yourself the night before. With these 'grind and brew' combo units, there is one big differentiator - whether the unit can grind and brew across multiple days or has to be cleaned/reloaded every day. This is a 'reload every day' solution, which I selected due to being less complicated. The reviews for 'multiple day' units pointed to problems managing beans/grounds/water reservoir/moisture existing in the unit together across multiple days.Overall happy with the purchase and would recommend. But I'd say if you're buying it to use the scheduling feature, be sure you'll have the discipline and memory to setup the unit the night before. Otherwise the price and complexity is probably not worth it. Having a separate grinder and brewer is a cheaper, quieter and more reliable solution.

Be diligent
I had no idea how much cleaning maintenance this coffee maker needs! But it’s worth it. The coffee tastes so good and I enjoy brewing a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. The grinder and brew speed are tolerable and I’m rethinking all my keurig years, lol.The only thing I wish for is 12 cup capacity, but it’s already too high to fit under my upper cupboards so I cleared an area beside my kitchen window, so it’s working out ok now.Otherwise it would be a 5 star rating.Carry on!

Not worth it
Two down........Before this we tried the kurig duo which was a disaster......This Cuisinart is not much better. Our typical use - 2-6 Cups of a typical coffee maker (translates to 2-2.5 Travel Mugs worth of coffee.)The 1-4 c brew function is not nearly as hot as the normal brew. But the normal brew itself is not very hot and the directions recommend pre-warming the thermal carafe with hot water. (The carafe resting place also warms during brew but shuts off after.)The whole reason to get a thermal carafe is to avoid a lot of these things......The bean grinder does work well but doesn't fit enough for the whole coffee maker (not if you're doing a medium to strong bean weight to water weight.) It is incredibly loud and we don't use it because it will wake the whole house up.The only time the brew basket doesn't over fill with grinds is when using the grinder or when doing less than 4 cups. Our typical 6 cup demand leaves grinds all over the basket and carafe (and in our coffee.)The carafe design is horrible, you pretty much have to turn it upside down to get the coffee all the way out. Often we take the lid off to pour.We now only use this when we've forgotten to clean out the french press (our back up coffee maker).

Wake The Dead Loud. Neediest Coffeemaker You’ll Ever Love (or Loathe)
If you’ve ever wanted to start your day with the sound of a jet engine in your kitchen, the Automatic Grind & Brew 10 Cup Coffeemaker (DGB-450) has got you covered. This thing is LOUD—like, “wake-the-dead, summon-the-neighbors, question-your-life-choices” loud. If you live with light sleepers or have paper-thin walls, prepare for some morning hostility. The grind cycle lasts about a minute, but it’s a minute of pure chaos.Once the noise settles and your ears stop ringing, you’ll get a full 10-ounce pot of coffee in 10 minutes, which is great—except for the cleaning. Oh, the cleaning. The grind system gets so steamy it practically turns into a mini sauna, leaving condensation everywhere. That means after every single use, you’ll need to clean out the grinder and wipe down the inside unless you enjoy mystery leaks and coffee-scented surprises. Add another 10 minutes to your morning routine just for maintenance, making this the most high-maintenance relationship you never asked for.And if you’re a little too generous with the water reservoir? Surprise! There’s a sneaky hole in the back that will ensure your countertops get a nice morning rinse.Final verdict? It makes coffee. It does its job. But be ready for a daily commitment of noise, cleaning, and unexpected water spills. If you enjoy extra chores before your caffeine kicks in, this might just be your perfect match.

Easy to disassemble
We’ve been using this for about a month and a half and I like the ease of setting it up & walking away.It has an option to add whole beans and it’ll grind them. The grinder is loud, but that’s just something you can’t avoid.Parts are easy to disassemble and wash out.
