Keep Talking (Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers)

Great book. It is nice to have the information available for use in class. My students love to talk, but there are some days that seem like nothing can motivate them to speak up. It is nice to see different views on getting students motivated when they are not.

Ich unterrichte seit mehr als 20 Jahren und bin ständig auf der Suche nach neuen Ideen. In diesem Buch habe ich sie massenhaft gefunden. Nicht nur die Schüler (14 bis 19 Jahre) sind begeistert von der Vielfältigkeit der Sprachspiele und Diskussionsthemen, auch ich habe dadurch viel Neues gelernt; wie ich z.B. manche Themen, die ich selbst schon oft als abgedroschen und ziemlich langweilig empfunden habe, jetzt auf ganz andere, kreative Art den Schülern näher bringen kann. Die im Buch enthaltenen Übungen und Beispiele bringen die Schüler wirklich zum Reden und zum eifrigen Diskutieren. Mir als Lehrer hat dieses Buch schon viel Arbeit erspart. Die Gesprächssituationen und Spiele sind perfekt aufbereitet, einfach und nachvollziehbar erklärt, und auch ca. 100 Seiten schön ausgearbeitete, kopierbare Worksheets sind enthalten. Ich zähle einige der Kapitel auf: Interviews, guessing games, questioning activities, ranking exercises, discussion games, thinking strategies, problem-solving activities, miming, role plays and simulation,... Ich kann das Buch zu 100% weiterempfehlen.

I chose this book because I was looking for some ideas of how to make students to talk in English. This book is helpful, but I still need to arrenge it for my students level. I found it is useful for ESL teachers, but not for school in Japan... BUT there are many ideas in this book!

Well, I bought this book just a few days ago, and I must say it is invaluable indeed! The range of the activities included is extremely wide and explained in great detail. I very much feel that I'll be consulting it before every single lesson. The only problem is that, due to the variety of suggestions, I am going to have trouble choosing! Many thanx to the author! This is exactly what both teachers and students of a foreign language need!

"Keep Talking" contiene molte idee per vivacizzare le attività di classe e migliorare la lingua inglese parlata (ma la maggior parte degli esercizi si potrebbero utilizzare anche per altre lingue) suddivise per livelli. La maggior parte delle attività si può usare così com'è o, volendo, si può adattare per il proprio gruppo di lavoro con piccole modifiche. Per buona parte delle attività non serve altro materiale che quello reperibile in classe, per altre vengono forniti materiali già pronti e anche schede fotocopiabili. E' un libro utilissimo sia per arricchire le proprie lezioni con attività di speaking coinvolgenti e divertenti, sia per quando serve preparare una lezione all'ultimo minuto.

Ce livre m'a été recommandé par une amie, et c'est une superbe ressource pour tous mes cours où la conversation est intégrée. Très facile à utiliser.
