Perfect fit for broken latch.

The original (black color) latch had broken from normal wear and tear. This unit was an exact match (other than color) and was easy to install. The brown latch worked fine with the brown door so the color change was not significant.

In spite of the product description saying “ Sliding Door / Folding Door Privacy Latch “, this was an exact replacement for the swinging bathroom door latch on my ‘87 Lance slide in truck camper. Two minute install and we are good to go again for another 36 years! Good price too.

Fit great and easy to install!

This latch worked perfectly to replace the latch on my motorhome (1991 Fleetwood Bounder) bathroom door that my in-laws broke. I was pleased to see that it was for sale on amazon and it shipped just in time for me to install it before going on my first camping trip of the year. The installation was super simple and came with all parts that were needed to replace my broken latch. We have had it installed now for 5 camping trips and it has so far survived lots of use from me and my wife and also my 3 young children who have a tenancy to slam the door when they used the bathroom. Also my old latch was hard to get the door open from day 1 even when the motorhome was brand new however this latch is super smooth and im able to get the door to unlock with ease.

I bought the latch as an exact replacement for one in my camper trailer. The old ones outside handle was broken but everything else worked fine. I installed the new one and found the button would not depress properly, which meant the bolt would not extend more than half way and wouldn't latch. Several attempts of pressing and depressing and trying to get the mechanism to work were unsuccessful. I ended up reinstalling the old inside handle/button/bolt which still worked, with only the new outer handle. I did send in photo and receipt for warranty, but not worth it to take apart and send the whole new latch in for replacement.
