Strange
This grass seed grew fast. With in 3 days but you have to spread it close together and it comes in very thin. When it gets tall it falls over on its self like a topay. I thought it would be thicker.

Ditch the namebrand Scotts and use something that works
I have used both Scotts and Pennington and will always reach for the Pennington brand over Scotts. I've noticed that grass seeds tend to have a shelf life and I have to say that every time I have bought a Scotts product I have been disappointed. I use the seeds to fill in bare spots from my Husky and I have found that Pennington sprouts every time. Scotts not so much, and Scotts os more expensive. The wood based carrier for the Pennington spot repair is genius and way better than the soil Scotts provides. Again, with Husky urine the wood neutralizes it while the Scotts product just doesn't grow. I used to be a fan of Scotts but for Grass seed There are way better options. Pennington being one of them.

Good spot repair
I applied this seed 2 weeks ago. Moles destroyed the grass in this area. I poisoned the moles and applied this grass seed to the area. I watered it every day. The sun is hot here in SW Florida. The grass was showing in 6 days. Came in good. Did exactly what I bought it for. I recommend this for spot repairs. Might be to costly for large area. Keep your moles under control. Ive found that a little diesel fuel in their house will annoy them into leaving. Lol. A pump up sprayer with the nozzel removed works great without killing alot of grass. Update. Grass came in and filled in a lot bigger area than I seeded. It creeps and fills in. I am so impressed with the results I got from this product. I highly recommend. Make sure you water it good until it gets established.

None Sprouted
Wish we hadn’t bought this. None sprouted. On the other hand, we bought some from Amazon that appeared to be a private farm in Oregon. All of that came up. Won’t buy this brand again.

Simple to use.
I just put these seeds down a few days ago so I will try to come back and edit my review if rye grass ends up not growing. These seeds were easy to use and thus far the upkeep is simple. I live in an apartment with a small yard area. The grass was dead in spots so I bought this in hopes of filling out the grass a bit. The bag was a perfect size for my small yard. UPDATE: It has been 2 weeks and I haven’t seen any growth. Not sure if I over watered or perhaps there’s too much sun or perhaps it needs more time. The bag states 8-10 days so I assumed I’d see a least a few tiny sprouts by now. UPDATE #2. A year later, still no grass. User error or seed issue? I’m not sure.

Follow the directions and you end up with new grass
Follow the directions and you end up with new grass. You need to water the seed and grass per the directions. I get good results by spearing new topsoil on the bear spots in my lawn before spreading the seed. This product works as well as Scotts but costs less.
