Atwood G6A-8E RV Water Heater 6 Gallon without Door

Exact replacement for my 2005 Fleetwood Jamboree. Easy to install, good quality and fired right up without any issues. What more can I ask for? It also came with a door, even know the product page said no door. Now I have an extra door, so that cool. Shipping was a little slow, but thats OK because I didn't have any trips planned for another month anyways. I installed it in about an hour. The wire colors matched up to the one in my rig, I just snipped the wires with the connector from the old one and soldered the wires and used heat shrink tubing. That is what took the longest to do. I had to use the copper elbows from the old one, but that was not a big deal. I suppose I could have bought new ones, but they work just fine, its copper after all.

Bought this as a direct replacement for our water heater in our 2000 fleet wood Bounder 36S. It was a perfect fit and easy to install. We can take a hot shower 3 minutes after turning this on. It is awesome! Check camping world, sometimes they have these on sale.

Right off the start, why sell something like this without the door? I had to modify the existing door to cover the hole. No big deal, just had to use the old door and screw the vent grating to the new unit. Then a month later Amazon tries to interest me in the new door for $25. I would have gladly bought it with the unit and saved a little grief and time. The basic unit itself is fine and hooked up just like the original (wiring too). We have not used it enough to know if there are any other issues.

This is a great price. I went to a local RV parts store and asked them if they could match it and they told me to buy it because it is less than they can buy it. I went from a non-electric ignition to an electric ignition and love it. No more blown out pilot problems in the desert when the wind comes up. Replacement was direct replacement as my hoses matched up and the unit came with a wiring diagram so that was easy. It comes without a door but I had an Atwood and my old door fit.
