Amazing Quality and Price
Let me add my voice to the chorus of enthusiastically positive reviews of this cane. This is my first review of any product after 15+ years on Amazon, if that tells you anything.First, it arrived 4 days ahead of time, safely packaged. The quality of the workmanship was immediately obvious right out of the box and bubble wrap. The hardwood is a rich, handsome dark brown, perfectly sanded and sealed. The dimensions are exactly as advertised, and at ~20 oz it is surprisingly light for its durability. It came with a small brochure and an extra rubber foot and the wrist strap is easily detachable and reattached.I occasionally need a cane when an old injury flares up, was getting tired of the cheap junk you see at the pharmacy, and stumbled on Asterom while reading about the war. That they can make such a fine product at an affordable price, and all during wartime, is a remarkable achievement.Bottom line: If you are at all on the fence about buying one, just buy one. You'll get a well-made, essential walking aid if you need it. If you don't need it, you'll get an elegant accessory that wouldn't look out of place in a ballroom.

Functional cane, also a work of art.
I waited to review this until after I had used it some to give a better review based in experience.I am a disabled young adult who has struggled with the idea of using a cane because of vanity and pride. But this cane is not an old lady's cane. It is a beautiful work of art, very stylish, and suitable for young and old alike. I have received many compliments about it and have recommended Asterom Handmade to many people.Aside from the beauty of this walking stick it is perfectly functionally, too. It is very sturdy. I weigh a little over 400 lbs and it supports me with ease. It is solid wood. Hollow, metal canes will bounce if dropped gently onto the base. This cane does not bounce. It is solid. It came in three pieces which were incredibly easy to assemble. The top piece with the handle screwed easily into the bottom piece and a beautiful silver ring, which I think is more for decoration, sits between these two pieces. I have issues with my wrists that make some tasks difficult for me, but I assembled my cane with ease and no tools were required. It also came with two rubber pieces that fit on the bottom of the cane, which I also assembled easily. As if all of this wasn't great enough, I was pleasantly surprised when someone from Asterom Handmade reached out to me checking if the cane was working well for me.These are people who care. They put their hearts into creating quality and will take the extra step of ensuring their customers are happy.I will continue recommending Asterom Handmade to anyone in need and I will come back to them if I ever need another high quality walking stick.

Excellent Ukrainian Craftsmanship, Better Than Advertised
To say I was pleased with the cane wood be an understatement. (See what I did there?) Excellent quality, and the bolt for joining the two parts is long and strong. Wood is blemish-free and both parts are consistently stained. The joinery ring is a beautiful touch, with the manufacturer's family name and "handmade" inscribed. Came with an extra foot. In general, it is even better than described on this site. There's a lot of discussion in this product's Q&A about trimming the cane shorter, and whether it's advisable while the cane is slightly tapered. The concern is that the trimmed end would then be too wide for the foot. So I did some measurements, using a caliper, for your edification: the main body/shaft is exactly 28" long. At that end, the diameter is 23mm. Trimmed 2cm shorter, it'd be at 23.3mm. At 4cm, it's 23.6mm. At 6cm, it's 23.9 mm. At 8cm, it's 24.0mm. and at 10cm, it's 24.1cm. I can't say whether these dimensions are typical, or whether they are consistent across all the canes.I am still going to trim my cane, since the taper is so minor. If the foot doesn't fit on the new end, I'll cut some small expansion slots into it to give it a little extra room for siding on. We'll see how it works.FOLLOW-UP EDIT: After measuring it to fit me, I chopped off 1 11/16" (43mm) and beveled the tip. The rubber foot was definitely tighter than before (due to the stick's taper) but went on without much effort. So it works, at least up to these measurements.

High quality cane.
This is a beautiful, well made, and solid cane. I wanted it not so much for support when walking, but instead as a potential quick access defense weapon. This thing would cause some pain if used in a defense. Not something I plan on carrying daily but it's certainly an item that will be nearby when going downtown for nice dinners with my wife. It looks classy and unimposing. It will look appropriate with blue jeans or a suit. It was a great purchase of a high quality item.

A work of art
Here is the message I sent to the seller, who contacted me after the purchase to inquire about my satisfaction. Class act!Message in reply:Thanks for following up regarding my satisfaction with the recent purchase of your product. It's nice to know you care about customer satisfaction, though by the impressive quality of your cane I should not be surprised. When I opened the package and held the beautiful artwork in my hand it felt like I was holding something very unique, special and alive. I have a question about the rubber tip, which I presume will eventually need replaced due to wear and tear. I was wondering why your marketing does not provide information about where to acquire replacements? At any rate, I hope to purchase another cane from the company as soon as funding offers the feasibility of such a purchase. Thank you for making these available and I wish you and your family/company all the best of future success. My advice to customers seeking to purchase a cane: consider this company! The product feels like perfection in my hands and is not mass prodiced like so many others on the market.
