Tacky's Christmas

I bought one of the Tacky books to read to m grandchildren, well they enjoyed it so much that I bought every Tacky book. Very fun!

My niece is a teacher in Arkansas. Her 1st grade class is sorely lacking in enjoyable books for afternoon reading. I purchased every 'Tacky' title available on Amazon and sent them down to her. I figured penguins in Arkansas would be a novelty for the kids, and they LOVED it!! I made sure that the Tacky's Christmas book arrived just before Christmas break!The 1st graders love Tacky and his crazy adventures; he's always faced w a perplexing problem, but seems to make the right (sometimes tough) choice to solve it. Good lessons for children!

Can't say enough how much my eighteen month old to nine year old grandchildren love this book! Great story, good art and Tacky is an endearing, timeless character. CD in the back is what made me decide on this edition. :)

I was already a fan of "Tacky the Penguin", but now I have a new book to add to my Christmas book collection. I am a Librarian, and do many story times for children. This is a great read-aloud book, and the kids loved it! The music CD was a fun bonus. I hope everyone has a "Tacky" Christmas this year!

this book was for a 5 year old, and he LOVES TACKY. it is funny and it helps the kids understand that there is more than one wary to do things. The quality of the books is very good. The hard cover will last for a loooong time, and it also helps with keeping the pages steady while reading in bed.

Cute story.

Helen Lester's series about Tacky are perfect for children who are beginning to read. The stories are fun with dialogue that can lead to expressive oral reading. I have used these books in a second grade classroom for years and they are always a favorite.
