Leaves you wanting more!
This is the final book, or so it seems, in the Green Ember series by S.D. Smith. The 9th book, The Archer’s Cup, continues to deliver what we’ve come to expect in this incredible series of fast-paced action and fantastic storytelling, laugh-out-loud humor, and endearing scenes. They are similar to the Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, though unique, fresh, and new at the same time. I have read the entire series to my daughters ages 9, 7, and 5, and they love them dearly. We also purchased the Green Ember audiobooks on Libro.fm so they could hear the stories again and again. They truly adore them.S.D. Smith easily creates depth in his characters, all the while enthralling the reader with epic adventure, mystery & intrigue, well timed humor, and in this book in particular, he touches more on romantic love. The masterful chronicling of Jo Shanks’ adventures in the battle for all Natalia includes a romantic element in this installment, as he and his friends escort the princess to Blackstone citadel to unite them for the cause. Somethings not right at the citadel and Jo and his cohorts get thrown into the fray by proxy. I read the book myself before reading it to my children, and I couldn’t put it down. I closed it with joy for such a great story now in my heart, and remorse that it was over. You won’t be disappointed! Be sure to read the previous books in the series to get the full picture for this book. I highly recommend them all above any other series out there.

A joy to read!!
Obviously reading this book was a bit bittersweet because it means we've reached the end of the *published* Green Ember series, BUT we loved it!! (And we know more books are coming, Lord willing!)It was an exciting change with the mystery and "who-done-it" thrown in! We were guessing and changing guesses the entire time on who the bad guys were!It was also a fun look into the background of what was happening while we were focused on other characters and places in the other books!!So much depth and personality is woven into every character. We laughed, we cheered, we gasped, we booed!!This series has been a pleasure to read aloud as a family, and we look forward to (hopefully many) more!! ♡♡♡

Astounding!!
This is by far the best book in the archer series. All books were great, going deeper into the main character Jo Shanks. I loved how this book fills in the gaps left in Ember Rising. The mystery was great too, putting a new spin on the Green Ember storyline. It was nice that the book was longer than the first two in the series. It was a compelling story, and the Archery contest was awesome. To Master storyteller S. D. Smith, we’ll done on another masterpiece. If If I could, I’d make a Green Ember tv show.

enjoyable conclusion to the series
This is the 3rd and final novella in the bunnies with bows series and I have to say, I kept wishing for another. It's a nice way to see the action from other characters perspectives and to get to see some in-depth character development as well as to get to meet new characters - some wonderfully endearing and others you just want to shake by the ears.Unlike the other stories set in this world, this has more love components in it. There are some surprise twists to the plot which is nice to see.

Full of great banter
The characters have some very funny conversations in this story. There's a bit of romance and a lesson in true love and honor. More clues to help understand the big story are uncovered. We see how much Jo's character grows and develops as he discovers the most important use of his skills. I really enjoyed seeing him learn and grow in this story.

Thrill, Mystery, and Fun!
In the final midquel of the series, Jo Shanks and the Blackstar twins have taken up the mission to protect Emma while trying to seek help from another citadel. But the timing couldn’t be worse as there is danger afoot with the citadel. Someone is after the Lord and Lady of the citadel and it’s up to Jo to find the culprit while struggling with is own heartache.
