8/1/2016I have to change the rating once more again. After using it for a few months, i do not find this slippery any longer. It is dense, cushiony, and i am very happy with it.4/26/2016this is a follow up review after using this mat a few times. Initially I gave 5 stars to this mat soon after I received it just from the feel of it. But after using it a couple of times, I find its short coming. It is quite slippery. I don't know why but I find my feet slipping when I do the warrior poses and down dog. Some of the reviewers mentioned that issue but I thought they probably did not know how to do the poses. But I find that to be quite bothersome. I will contact the seller and find out if there is any thing to remedy the situation.My two yoga mats are several years old and they are showing their age. So I looked up Amazon and found this mat with great reviews. I wanted a mat not too thin or too thick, high density, and has good grip. This mat satisfies all those specs I have been looking for. Beautiful slate color, and did not notice any odors like some reviewers mentioned. Perfect thickness, and high density, very firm - no squish at all. Kind of heavy due to high density but don't mind a bit. I am going to use my old mat as under mat to give me the cushion I need for my knees and elbows.This is a steal for the price, so glad I found it with Amazon.

Mat just arrived today. There is a slight chemical smell, but I do mean -slight-; nothing compared to what I was expecting from some of these reviews. Lays almost perfectly flat right out of the wrapping, but of course there is some curling at the two shorter edges that I suspect will go away with use. There is enough cushion that I can use this comfortably on hardwood floors without my elbows feeling dug into while doing planks, but not so much that it prevents balancing in certain poses.The one big negative I have right now is that it does feel pretty slippery. Attempting to do diamond pushups on this and my hands keep wanting to slide out from under me. Other reviews indicate that this may lessen with use, so I will update this in due time. In the meantime, I cut up a portion of a cardboard box (about 24" x 10") and lay that on top of the mat to keep my hands more firmly in place when needed.

I bought this yoga mat to replace one very similar to it. I bought the blue-black combo. Really nice. I’m 6’ tall and needed a mat with a few more inches in length, which this has. Mat is tacky enough to eliminate slippage out of the box without being sticky. And, I really like the 2-tone look. We will see how it holds up, but if it’s like my previous mat, I will be buying my next mat from the same company. Highly recommended.

The mat is a good length and width for my 5-foot frame. It's a nice color combination and the thickness is as described. I had to keep it out on the porch for a couple of days to get rid of the odor, which reminded me of nail polish remover. If you order ahead of time to allow for this, it's a good deal at this low price.

I use this product every morning to get stretched out and light exercises before I head off for work. It is great in all departments. I don't slip the slightest, and neither does that mat. It is easy to roll up and put away for later if needed. Lastly, it provides just the right amount of cushion for me. Would highly recommend.

I'm not sure if it's my hands getting too sweaty (not usually a sweaty person) or if i'm doing the poses wrong but my hands tend to slip and I find myself re-adjusting often. Overall though, this is a good mat. I needed something longer as the mats at the gym were not long enough for me, i'm 6'.I do wish it came with a handle or something for easy travel though. I don't really want to have to buy one but i'm sure i will soon.

This did have a strong chemical odor when it arrived, but after a day or two, it went away.I’m using this for training exercises my physical therapist gave me, and the mat’s a little thinner than I or my knees would like, but it does the job given the price.

When washed, the black bleeds through to the blue side. Love the extra length, however. More cushioning than closed-cell foam. If you wash it in a front-loading washing machine, use very little soap or the mat will be soapy. Had to rinse it several times in the laundry tub.
