This sharpener is awesome! My 2nd graders learned to use it - and how to not to jam in pencils - easily. I love that this sharpener stops when the pencil is sharp so students don't just keep on shortening their pencil with every crank or every second using an electric sharpener. I also love that I don't have to keep checking to see if it's sharp enough, especially when I'm doing a batch of pencils.

I bought this to replace the same one that just broke after about 7 years. Fits nicely into a small spot and works beautifully.

Awesome sharpener for classroom use.

Very disappointed with this product. Each pencil comes to a point on one side and the other has wood.. UNEVEN sharpening. So pencil does not work well.

I tried this model out in the Staples store and bought it immediately to keep pencils sharp in my woodshop. The key is the long barrel where the pencil enters, which keeps it parallel for a keen point. No other electric sharpener I've used has sharpened my wood shop pencils so well - even the very cheap pencils. The sharpener stops automatically when the point is achieved. No wiggle; no wobble = precise point. This is Staples Model # 21833.
