No derivatives of coconut or palm so...
The media could not be loaded. I decided to purchase these in early January of twenty twenty four when they were marked down at around ten something in $$$ (when I added them to the cart though, it went up to sixteen something 🫠 still better in $$$ in comparison 🤷♀️) I read online that these pastels are made from refined Safflower Oil throughout the production process it undergoes so as a result of that I decided to try my luck at using them. These oil pastels are incredibly creamy as well as highly pigmented and since I previously used the chalky variation of the SENNELIER pastels in my Drawing 2 class while I was working on my in-class and take home assignments I decided I'd give the oil pastels a chance since even the chalky variation was highly pigmented to the point where it showed up quite vividly on my skin and so I wanted to experiment further with the oil pastels... There's still a learning curve I'm trying to overcome.P.S: Make sure to refrigerate them, for the sake of longevity and . durability since otherwise they'll turn/melt and become too soft.P.S: They're beautiful with ease in blendability the set of six is incredibly high quality in their pigments the set can be snatched up at a value for the money on the first of the month of the new year. However, putting the pigments near the eyes... Is not recommended (I say so from experience).

Like working with lipstick, so incredibly smooth
One may be a bit shocked at the price of a set of Sennelier oil pastels if you're just first looking to break into the medium, but they're some of the best quality out there. The pastels are highly pigmented and effortlessly smooth to apply. It really is like essentially working with lipstick. They're just so incredibly soft, think of the texture of softened butter.Great to apply with a palette knife, interesting to try blending. The box they come in even feels high quality and the foam keeps them from getting all over the place. There's not as much as a "weird smell" compared to some other brands, which is nice. The landscape set has some very interesting colors.

Sennelier is the best
The sennelier oil pastels are the best oil pastels you can get if you need a soft, creamy texture pastel to use in your work. I like to use them for foliage, highlighting or producing ethereal elements in my work(clouds etc.). I often use them with harder less expensive pastels(pentel) on top of my acrylic paintings. They are the best for easy blending.

A luxury set of oil pastels. You're paying for quality not quantity.
These are the most high quality oil pastels I've ever used. The creaminess and rich pigmentation of colors are high in class. I used these oil pastels to do a portrait of my great Grandmother. The colors are that of pink flesh tones with a couple of reddish rich browns. There are also three cool blues, along with a bright, yet soft, yellow color and some muted blue-greys/purple and tan browns. The packaging is satisfying and smells like something fresh from the art store. The cons I find in this, is that you'll be paying for quality not quantity. These pastels are very soft. I would say you can crush them with a firm squeeze and the warmth of your hand from use.If you apply a lot of pressure or draw on a big surface, you'll probably need to restock soon because they will turn into nubs, fast. The other con I have is that I wish there were more colors of brown flesh tones in this set, because this set is for portraits.Other than that they are a luxury set of oil pastels to have.
